Classic

Wow Steve, that is just awesome! Have you had a tape of this for 36 years? Clear boards, old-school goal masks, and wood sticks.

Lou Nanne on the commentary...some things never change!!

Very cool. Get any Christmas cards from Neal Broten? LOL

A classic in every sense of the word.
Be kind. Rewind.

Who is the play by play guy for WTCN TV(KARE 11) today. They had ALL the MSHSL tournaments through 1978 when KSTP outbid them for the hockey tourney starting in 1979.

The play-by-play guy is Joe Boyle, Lou Nanne is providing color commentary and I think a guy by the name of Roger Buxton was also part of the broadcast team.

Sounds good. I know years later Roger Buxton was the sports director for the Minnesota News Network. Also here is an intrsting fact about Joe Boyle. It was in another sport but in Decmber of 1979 he called a college basketball game for ESPN and he was the 1st partner that worked with Dick Vitale. Apparently Boyle never did call another basletball game for ESPN after this night because hockey was his main sport

I had the distinct pleasure to lose to both those teams that year. Face masks were optional that year and became mandatory in 77-78. There were no less than 18 D1 guys in that game, incredible.

Come on you play this every year. I know you beat Roseau and played out of your head but they did miss 2 open nets and Roseau goalie if you may recall had a bad goal from outside the blueline go in.

But still its a good plug for Carroll GS I guess. Hah LOL

Congrats to your 2012 Hornets.

Sorry I couldnt help myself I had to give you a little grief cuz I see it every year. BTW keep up the good work with the tenders though since I am in the goalie union.

Look at how much smaller the goalie pads are also.
