Roughly 10% turnover.

Good work parents!

Lets see if we can get that up to 25% in the near future.

The more coaches that are chased out, the more green and underqualified the candidates become.

Kind of a downward spiral........

I stand corrected, we are already at 25% turnover from the end of last season to now. LOL

I'm sure that there's an historian in the bunch, but how do these (non-final) numbers compare so far to the past several seasons' final numbers? Thanks.

I posted this last year, it's the best info available going back through the open positions posts on this board.

I'm told there are at least two more positions open that haven't been made public yet (and/or posted).

2013-14 = 11
2012-13 = 23
2011-12 = 29
2010-11 = 26
2009-10 = 12 (posting ended in July could be partial list)
2008-09 = Couldn't find a thread with this years turnover
2007-08 = 14 (partial list?)
2006-07 = 36
2005-06 = 30
2004-05 = 21

Tom KulenKamp from Spring Lake Park resigned. Position is posted with MSHSL. Sad to see him go after 30+ years coaching.

Why did Sager resign? Was the school not going to renew his contract? Is Andover being sold a bill of goods on this guy? Just wondering why he has been at two different schools in two years.

A majority of the Centennial parents signed a petition stating their displeasure with the 1st year coach. This was forwarded to the school board, and a closed door meeting was held. I believe that should answer the question on why he resigned. Would you want to stay if a majority disliked you?

The program is suffering, and young top talent have been leaving. In the last couple years, Centennial has lost 5 top end freshman and a sophomore to privates such as Benilde, Breck, Cretin, and Hill (3 of the 6 players were top 5 scorers on their teams this year). A few 8th graders have already departed or will not be with Centennial next year.

Are you saying he is the new Andover coach?

centennial

Post by goaline »

Centennial is icky -- an area and school with a terrible sense of community and a worse sense of entitlement... Maybe the parents should hire themselves each year to run the program and we can all watch as they eat each other -- not so different than what coaches there have experienced!

Well that seems to explain why Centennial seems to have a fairly strong youth program each year, but suffers at HS. Good luck to all concerned.
