Doesn't it seem that Perry has been the goalie for Andover forever. I can't remember Andover without him in goal. What did he start as a 5th grader? He must be good enough for D1 without question.NLHockey wrote:Played this weekend for Andover in Cloquet, if that means anythingMNhockey29 wrote:Any word on Perry and if he'll leave for Sioux Falls?

Correct that Kivihalme is gone next season. As for Sheehy and Boesser, as far as I know that will both be playing HS next season.oldschoolpuckster wrote:Heard from a scout that Kivihalme from Burnsville will play for Fargo in the USHL this season. Haven't seen anything on their site to confirm but he (scout) seemed sure of it.
If he goes...does Sheehy go USHL as well? How about Boesser (sp)?

Yes, several. I couldn't tell you from where though. He has been keeping pretty hush hush about it, taking his sweet time to commit.BP wrote:Has Avery Peterson got any offers yet from D1 schools? Especially now that he is drafted?
I wish him the best in the future but am disappointed he's taking the Sioux City route, gonna miss watching him play.

The Sioux City route is a better option for Avery Peterson than staying and playing high school.north_bear wrote:Yes, several. I couldn't tell you from where though. Avery himself has not stated one way or the other where he will play next winter - at least not publicly. The only thing he has said is that he will play next fall in Sioux City. Everything else is speculation at this point. Everyone in GR hopes he returns for his final season in the orange & black, but people also realize he needs to do what's best for himself. Classy kid all the way.northwoods oldtimer wrote:The Sioux City route is a better option for Avery Peterson than staying and playing high school.north_bear wrote:Yes, several. 100% Warner is in Waterloo next season. The Exiled One wrote:You're probably right, but I have been burned by that assumption in the past. "The 'Elite League' and playing HS Hockey is the best way to develop"
Unless it is my kid, then he should go to the USHL.
But the rest of you need to stay here.
I love the hypocrisy.

Has the Burnsville coach been just as outspoken in defense of the high school development model as the Usual Suspects? I'm not aware of any comments made by him along those lines.outside_observer wrote:Funny,hshockeyfan8 wrote:Correct that Kivihalme is gone next season. While it's obviously a bit of an issue when it's the coach's kid that is leaving early, you could be a bit more charitable when the kid is also an NHL draft pick. Think Nashville might have had an opinion on where he should play this year?

There are several MSHSL players on USHL rosters and protected lists. Although, many of them are also listed as playing Elite League, which is probably a better indicator of where they're spending the season.
Agreed. Here's a list of guys not mentioned here before who appear on the rosters (not the affiliate lists). The Exiled One wrote:There are several MSHSL players on USHL rosters and protected lists. Christiano Versich
Aaron Herdt
Jacob Dittmer
Dylan Malmquist
Steven Spinner
John Peterson
Hayden Shaw
Most of these guys doing the before-and-after?
