I think you have the opening game listed wrong == Prior Lake vs Centennial ':?:'

Fun to just get back in hockey mode again for bit (':D')

Achiever Academy didn't participate in Eagan's Summer Meltdown Tourney last weekend.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for any given game to be fun/entertaining/predictive of the future. It's summer hockey, and there is a wide range of attitudes/approaches to these games. Some coaches use these games to evaluate underclassmen, or seniors that might be on the bubble this November. Others coaches treat these games as if they were playing at Schwann's Cup. And you also get to factor in which kids are on vacation (either literally or mentally).

Achiever is listed in both events this weekend? That was the question.

I disagree, I think that if you get a match up of two teams that despise each other, say Wayzata vs. Tonka or EP vs. Holy Family, I think those games will be takin serious and could be an insight to the upcoming season.

Can you shed some light on why EP and Holy Family might despise each other? and Tonka v Wayzata?

I would not necessarily say these teams despise each other, but rather a rivalry that stems from familiarity and in some cases opponents that are former teammates.

There, I fixed that for you.

Eagan was in same boat. One kid from last year's varsity, one from JV...and 18 kids who played Bantams last year.

Did Eagan have 18 bantams last year? Maybe if you count some of the kids that played B2. I think this was mainly there JV team from last year with a handful of bantams meaning 5. Pickings starting to get thin. Maybe time to grab the moniker of "AlmostUnhappy" for 2013-14 and beyond as the ride could start getting rough.

"Did Eagan have 18 bantams last year?" Yes. Not all on the AA team, of course, but is that what I wrote?

"Maybe if you count some of the kids that played B2." Or B1, or C...

"I think this was mainly there JV team from last year." Nope

"...with a handful of bantams meaning 5." Not unless you mean the handful of kids who were first year bantams last year, and will be second year bantams this year.

"Pickings starting to get thin...."
Thinner than past 3 or 4 years? Sure. But save the snarky schadenfreude for next season, Nuts...the Cats won't be nearly as bad as you hope they'll be this year. :)

The 4 teams in the "Championship" brackets at Eagan were:

9:00am EP vs Holy Family
9:15am Prior Lake vs Eastview

Saw the EP/HF match-up. EP was up 3-0 at half and The Family rallied back but fell short. 4 3 EP. If Holy Family could stay out of the box in the first half it would have been a different outcome possibly. Rassmusen played good for HF in the first half. LaCombe did well in the 2nd. Gerdes played for EP the whole game and did good too.

I heard it was 1-1 with Eastview and Prior Lake going into OT.

Prior Lake wins 2 1

There was some good hockey this morning. Fun to watch.

Champ game EP vs PL. EP wins 3 2 in Overtime.

Isn't Rassmusen from EP? any chance he will transfer back considering the EP goalie void?

Wouldn't be surprised if he transferred back. Would be a guaranteed 3 year starter at the least.

He lives in EP but has always gone to Catholic schools. I would put alot of money that he would never transfer to EP. After this year he will be a 3 year starter for HF anyways. So there is no benefit ( in my mind anyways).

Chanhassen is growing like crazy and has a beautiful new HS. Probably not dysfunctional yet either...

Burnsville had split squads. Storm had full bench of older-looking players that played with some intensity.
