Career 200-point/100-goal/100-assists in MN HS Hockey

Post by dueling21 »

I'm pulling an old topic back out of mothballs...

BUMP...the impossible task it certainly is, so I've revised the plan. I'm now looking for guys with more than 200 career points, 100 career goals, and/or 100 career assists. Much more rarified air and perhaps easier to pick off.

Any additions for the good folks of the board?

Oh...I've already got one...

Little fun fact:

Both names from New Ulm...in addition to Steinbach playing MLB...so did Jaime Hoffman (Dodgers).

Always about scoring and forwards... in most cases.

How about top defense in scoring. Would be nice to see this list.

I moved the old topic up to this forum in case people are interested in the past work on this topic.

My East history project this summer turned up some stuff. One more for the assists list:

106-Dylan Mills, Duluth East (1997)

I also have Jake Randolph at 111, not 110. If I remember right, this is probably because the Hub's box score for one East state tournament game is missing an East goal. (Don't ask me why I remember this.)

I also have mildly different numbers for Spehar and Locker:

Spehar 163-141-304
Locker 92-153-245

Not sure how we'd resolve the difference without digging through a lot of microfilm, though.

A couple things skew these numbers. In 1991-92 season MSHSL went to a 2 Tier State Tournament allowing more teams to play more games.
In 2003 the MSHSL lengthened the periods from 15 to 17 minutes effectively adding 3.33 games per regular season.

I totally agree...but that project is VERY difficult to pull off. Even more so than just straight scoring totals, as the D-men don't pile up big numbers (usually) that can be more easily tracked.

You ready to jump on that one?

to add to the difficulty, some players swing both ways( play both forward and D) during the course of a game, season, or career. Try sorting that one out.
