National Championships don't grow on trees. When was the last time NoDak won one? How about Denver? How about CC, SCSU, Notre Dame, Miami-Ohio, etc.....mulefarm wrote:Actually they tied for the McNaughton cup. I guess you are happy with a league championship instead of a national championship. When they won their last two NCAA championship's they didn't win the WCHA. Seem to always start strong and tail off at the end of the season. Just curious to hear your view on this.
Don won back-to-back championships and has led the Gophers to a few other Frozen Fours. He has a .638 winning percentage during his tenure. Conference and Conference Tournament championships aren't as good as National Championships (I don't see where anyone said they were), but they aren't meaningless either.
If Don keeps putting the Gophers in a position to succeed, the championships will come. It doesn't ALL fall on the coaches. And as Slap Shot said, sometimes you just have to tip your hat to the competition.
