Any word on where he's from?

Dave was a new assistant this year with Eden Prairie and worked the summer with the girls. Not sure prior to that.

United Press Release:

David comes to the United program with a wonderful range of hockey knowledge and experience. David played hockey at Williams College, a goalie by trade. He has most recently been on staff with the Eden Prairie HS program and spent three years as an assistant coach at Blake under legendary coach Brano Stankovsky. He has been working in the Orono youth hockey program this past year in addition to being an on-ice official at various levels since 1997. He has also worked with two NHL franchises in their fan development efforts, has worked at various collegiate summer camps, and done extensive on-ice instruction and evaluation with local, regional and national “Select” hockey camps. Hockey is clearly his passion.

Through all this experience David brings a wealth of personal and professional connections with people within the local, collegiate and USA Hockey circles that will benefit our program and our players.

He was a long time assistant at Blake with coaching legend Brano Stankovsky. Since then has been working in Orono with youth, and was most recently hired to help out at EP. He has a great hockey background, and is great with the kids, and was a good hire by SPU.

I just looked at LPH online and answered my own question. Apparently she has moved on to take over for the Minneapolis Novas (which was another relatively late opening when Pat Meacham left). Not that Tartan has a great program, but the move surprises me a bit.

Based on her past she isn't someone who stays with one program for a long period of time. She seems to have bounced around from school to school including HS and college teams.

This isn't the most openings every, but has to be the most positions to open this late in the year, typically all the openings are announced in the spring of the year, odd that schools/coaches would make this decision this late in the game.

There was a coaching change at Sibley in the early Spring that was missed. Mike Haedrich retired and was replaced by Chad Norman.
