New Co-ops

Post by MNHockeyFan »

Not final yet but it looks like Princeton could be joining Becker and Big Lake in a new girls co-op.

Any other changes in co-ops, either new or disbanded, for the coming season?

Co-op changes/additions (2013-14)

Post by MinnGirlsHockey »

I thought I'd take a stab at the Girls Hockey co-op changes/additions for 2013-14.

I may be missing some, but I believe these are the changed co-op's:

Coop: 374 "Robbinsdale Armstrong/Cooper"
FAIR School
Robbinsdale Armstrong High School (HOST)
Robbinsdale Cooper High School
(Heritage Christian Academy and Providence Academy removed)

Coop: 298 "Minnehaha United"
DeLaSalle High School
Minnehaha Academy (HOST)
Providence Academy
St. Agnes High School
St. Croix Lutheran High School
(Providence Academy added, Concordia Academy-Roseville removed)

I believe these are the new co-op's:

Coop: 55 "Jefferson/Kennedy"
Bloomington Jefferson High School (HOST)
Bloomington Kennedy High School

Coop: 918 "Achiever Academy"
Achiever Academy (HOST)
Great River School
Twin Cities Academy High School

One correction - Great River (a St Paul Charter School) is NOT co-oping with AA. The coop between GR and AA was dissolved although I don't know what that means for the TCA/AA part of it.

GR and TCA last year were co-oped with the St Paul Blades. I'm reading into this but I'd bet there was an understanding that all Charter schools located in St Paul would belong to the Blades co-op if a kid had an interest in playing hockey.

So then this off-season AA starts a relationship thru the side door with the charters.
The Blades come home from work early, catch AA in bed with the charters, and run to the closet for a shotgun.
AA jumps out the bedroom window before taking any buckshot in the behind. But he catches his pant-leg on the window sill and is now hanging upside down outside the house, causing an embarassing scene in front of the neighbors.
Even money says the charters end up back with the Blades co-op.

Wow I hope that sleazy comparison you chose to use does not mirror an incident from your personal life!!

Maybe not quite that prosaic, but factually...not terribly far off?

The one player from GRA will be skating for the St Paul Blades. Again, no idea what the status of any players from TCA is (there's at least one). Am sure someone knows but frankly - don't care enough to find out personally.

I can't see how the co-op (if there was one) would be anything but headaches for Achiever when it comes to hockey being that players from other schools would not be laying down 13K or more to go there and have the same HS hockey opportunities....It would help create opportunities for Achiever students to play other sports that their school is to small to field a full team for.
