Once again, great participation - 25 so far and still three hours to go before this week's posting deadline. To all you lurkers out there, why not give it a try? 8)

Also, note to mnhockey3535: You still need to post a score for the last game of the week, Eagan vs. Lakeville North - PM sent to you yesterday.

amazing so many people have zero knowledge of how good ssp is…

and zero knowledge of breck not being as good in the past……

most of you that make these predictions understandably have zero clue…..

Settle down Cigar. The Breck team I just watched is a shadow of the team it was 2 years ago, and if not for the worst reffing crew in MN the game would have ended 2-2 in regulation. Miller's first goal never crossed the line and I had it confirmed by several SSP parents that saw the same thing I did. This SSP team is also a shadow of past teams and has a less than 5% chance of getting past Achiever in the sections.

Please explain in your own logic, if SSP is so good, and Breck is so bad, why did it take a blown call by the ref for you to win?

I think that the truly amazing aspect of this is that you wait until the game is over and then tell everyone how dumb they are and how smart you are. Quite the gutsy call, all right.

Not any huge surprises tonight, which has resulted in a tight Leaderboard.

#4A South St. Paul 3, #5A Breck 2
Brigette Millier’s two goals led the host Packers past the Mustangs at Wakota Arena. Breck won the shot battle by a wide 35-20 margin, but South St. Paul’s Sydeny Conley stopped 33 of them to secure the win.

Only 6 of our 25 participants earned points but there were two - mnhockey3535 and spars46 – who got the score right to pick up an extra point.

#6AA Hopkins 7, #7A Orono 2
Game detail has not yet been entered.

All but one had the Royals winning, but nobody guessed the score.

#1AA Benilde-St. Margaret’s 8, #19AA Eagan 2
Kelly Pannek and Kippin Keller each got a pair of goals, and Kaylee Druk had a four point night for the Red Knights. BSM put 37 shots on net to Eagan’s 17.

All 25 predicted a Red Knights win, but no one got the score.

#3AA Hill-Murray 5, Eden Prairie 0
Five different Pioneer players scored goals, three more registered assists, and Leah Patrick stopped all 28 of EP’s shots for the shutout.

Although the higher-ranked team won, the score and margin were a surprise to most. 18 of 25 had Hill-Murray winning and picked up a point, but not surprisingly no one got the bonus.

#7AA Wayzata 4, #14AA Cretin-Derham Hall 2
Carly Noble’s hat trick powered the Trojans past CDH at Highland Arena. Wayzata also had a wide 47-27 edge in shots on goal.

No surprise to our prognosticators, as all but one predicted a Trojan win. There were three correct scores, by hockeyfan87, Silent But Deadly and sinbin.

After this evening’s five games, spars46 takes the early lead:

1. spars46 - 6

2. hockeyfan87 – 5
Silent But Deadly – 5
mnhockey3535 – 5
Antagonist – 5
Otter – 5

7. Fourteen tied with 4

21. Five with 3

Next: Three games on Thursday, including an important matchup between Wayzata and Benilde that will have Section 6AA seeding implications.

I only know that SSP could have added a 26th game to play Achiever this season but declined.

A quick change of subject, MNHockeyFan, but will we have Krach rankings this year? Last year's first KRACH ranking was about Nov 11 - not sure if these are still around? Thanks.

sinbin, I was wondering about this myself. The KRACH rankings have been done by Brian Goski, a/k/a ghshockeyfan on this Forum, for as far back as I can remember. To the best of my knowledge "ghs" has not posted since last Spring, but I do hope he resurfaces this season. I just sent him a PM and assuming I hear back I'll let you know what he says about continuing to put his KRACH ratings up on the Forum. Here is the page from last year that's on the MGHCA site.

I'll be working with the MGHCA & HUB/Strib folks to get KRACH going again this year. Just may be a little later than last year. I expect we'll see something meaningful around Dec 1 unless I can pull it together earlier.

Two of the three results this evening:

Wayzata 3, Benilde-St. Margaret’s 3 [OT]
Our group liked BSM to win this game by a 19-6 margin, but as far as our contest is concerned it didn’t matter because the two teams skated to a tie, which nobody predicted. Wayzata came back from a 0-2 deficit to go ahead 3-2, only to see the Red Knights get the equalizer on a beautiful solo effort by Kelly Pannek with just a few minutes remaining in regulation. Caitlin Reilly scored BSM’s first two goals. Overall I thought Wayzata had more good scoring chances and the edge in play, especially in the second period when they had the Red Knights bottled up in their own end much of time.

Irondale 3, Mounds View 2
Irondale scored two goals within 7 seconds in the 3rd period to overtake #9AA Mounds View at Schwan’s Super Rink. The Knights’ Sena Hanson got the winner and both Maddie Hentges and Sam Donovan had a goal and an assist. Irondale had a 29-21 edge in shots on goal.
Just 4 of our 26 astutely picked Irondale to win, with two more predicting a tie. And there were two – wolfman and capital pride – who got the score right to earn what could turn out to be a very important bonus point when the final weekly results are tabulated.

I’ll post an updated Leaderboard when the outcome of the EP/Blake game becomes known.

Final result from this evening:

Eden Prairie 3, Blake 2 [OT]
Charly Dahlquist scored the game winner at 2:35 of overtime to lead the Eagles past the Bears at Blake Arena. It was Dahlquist’s second goal of the game as she scored the tying goal with less than 5 minutes to go in the 3rd. Karlie Lund had two goals for Blake, also in the 3rd period to put her team up 2-1 before Dahlquist’s equalizer.

A much closer game than most of our panel predicted. Everyone had EP winning, but most thought they would have an easier time doing it: the average predicted score (CW) was 4-1, rounded. There were, however, four savvy prognosticators who did get the score right: hockeybozo, Orange_Wisent, rascalbrock and Otter – great job my all!

So here’s how things are looking (tight!) with just three games to go this week:

1. capitalpride – 7
spars46 – 7
Otter – 7

4. hockeybozo – 6
wolfman – 6
hockeyfan87 – 6
Orange_Wisent – 6
Silent But Deadly -6
rascalbrock – 6
mnhockey3535 – 6
Antagonist – 6

12. Twelve with 5

24. Two with 4

Tomorrow's lone game is "way up north": Breck vs. Warroad.

As I type this still no score reported for tonight's game by either the Hub or MGHCA, but Minnesota-Scores.net has it as:

Warroad 4, Breck 0

Assuming this is, in fact, the correct final score of this game - and results will be adjusted if it is not - here are the standings headed into this week's final two games:

1. capitalpride – 8
spars46 – 8

3. hockeybozo – 7
hockeyfan87 – 7
Orange_Wisent – 7
mnhockey3535 – 7
Antagonist – 7
Otter – 7

9. Ten tied with 6

19. Five tied with 5

24. Two with 4

On the other hand Edina creamed Roseau 10-0 (but for them it was just a 45 minute ride on their private jet!).
