What changed: " Ryan Kraft has apparently agreed to join Trent on his staff for the upcoming season. This will be a very good coaching staff that Lakeville North should be excited about.
My son has had the opportunity to skate for Trent at the youth level and he is undoubtedly one of the best coaches I have seen on and off the ice. I just wish we could have kept him in Rosemount."

I feel sorry for the kids. Why is one dad able to run the team?

If you signed the petition a couple years ago you should have nothing to say. You got what you asked for.

Minnesota-Scores.net has it as 4-3 Eastview.Nuts&Bolts wrote:Hockey Hub seems to be slipping and doesn't have this score. Anybody have a final (Eastview vs Poehlings/LN)? I'm afraid that the lack of spotlight games/photographs/stories and the homepage rebranding ("Star Tribune" now shown in three different places on the banner) suggests that it's more likely time for an influx of venture capital (and/or advertising revenue). They might be operating on a bootstring budget this year.Nuts&Bolts wrote:Hockey Hub seems to be slipping and doesn't have this score. Anybody have a final (Eastview vs Poehlings/LN)? Which would be a shame (if true). Loren Nelson has done a brilliant job building that site over the past few years.

Interesting subject - and probably why many leave the Lakeville Association. I don't have a kid in the program. But - rumors are as follows based on what I've heard.
1. The P family has 3 boys and it's been their "dream" for them all the skate together on one team (someone said there's a facebook post with all in their jerseys). I suppose if I had 3 boys on the same team - I may do the same thing. The interesting part is that the youngest is a 9th grader. He's a good player - but he's not superstar quality.
2. The P family is related to the Suter family - long term hockey connections.
3. The P family is best friends with the other Lakeville South transfer 9th grader who made varsity but didn't try out due to an injury. Apparently, they vacation together. The other 9th grader is a better player according to many.
4. This has been planned for a long time. The kids told other kids at school this was the plan one year ago. The only issue at try outs was to not screw up. Everyone in LHA knew this was coming - so people there aren't shocked.
5. The P Dad serves on Lakeville Board of Directors and has long controlled the coaching staff of his sons. It is said that as PeeWee As they had twin 23 year-old-coaches that took texts from Dad P during games for who to send out on the ice. It was also mentioned that P Dad hates girls hockey and has no time for it (is a waste of money). (Interesting that has a high-end position on board with that viewpoint when the Board's objective is to develop hockey for all youth). I heard the other 9th grader who transfered is also on the BOD.
6. If you want to play in Lakeville, you need to get in the good graces of the P family.
7. Lakeville South lost good players to SSM this year. The only way Lakeville could be competitive was to have better players all be on one team - so had to stack it.
8. The youngest P player already has to sit for a game because got kicked out for fighting - and the brothers jumped in to help.
What is most interesting is that when you do a search of the P name, the issue of the Fire/Tier I v. Associations come up and it appears that P was instrumental in attempting to black ball the Tier I players attempting to return (passing rule about it). He now orchestrates a scenario to stack his sons' team while raiding the South team. Seems highly inconsistent - kind of the the pastors who get busted for hiring prostitutes after preaching the good morality sermons.
Even more interesting - a topic that frequently came up was the number of good hockey players that have left Lakeville. There are no less than 5 Lakeville 9th graders down at SSM (one might be an 8th grader) - and they didn't get developed by LHA. (Ironic that most of those have MN Made connections and were there during the attempt to black ball kids that skated elsewhere for a year or two). There's other Lakeville kids that left for the private school route in that age category. Makes you wonder a little bit. Is it a coincidence that good players leave Lakeville that have kids the same age as the P kids? Wouldn't you want to keep talent so your kid could go to state and actually have a real chance to win it? Passing the rule to exclude Tier I/MN Made kids didn't stop those kids - they have went on and are thriving. It just served to dilute the talent in LV. Best case is poor leadership at the BOD level that serves to drive talent away - worst case is that there's a questionable motive to remove competition so your kids skate together.
Lakeville has went to the state tournament with a less than 50% winning record - while District 6 teams with excellent records haven't went. Who goes to state with that kind of record? A frequent comment I heard was that Lakeville could be highly competitive if it didn't split into two schools and it didn't chase it's talent out.
Just some thought provoking questions/issues.

OK - BS Special - Boys and girls hockey are completely different when talking about 8th and 9th graders playing Varsity. It is far more common for younger players in girls to play Varsity than it is in the boys programs - a fact that would've taken about 3 minutes to check out before opening your pie hole with that one. The rationale for that is a totally separate subject that deserves its own thread - so suffice it is to say here that you're comparing apples and oranges and the reasoning is faulty. I can't believe you even commented with that! Wow! More importantly - I think the girls Varsity coach puts together winning teams and didn't get his job from a player's parent lobbying for him. Seems to me that LV North Girls Varsity has a better than 50% record when they've went to state.
As far as writing War and Peace - and as much as I find the one-liners amusing (and hope they continue)- if you really want to discuss a topic - you can't do it with zingers and one-liners - unless you're just stirring the pot for entertainment value or you work for a political party.
As far as having friends' kids in the programs - yep - I would say that's true, but not sure is relevant to passing along the thought of people. Facts are facts and I talked to a lot of people - not just one person and people from a variety of associations that are knowledgeable about the situation. Several people I talked to do not have a kid in the program. I also would've shared the positive comments IF I heard any. I didn't. So, there is none or I by coincidence talked to only people that thought it didn't pass the smell test. The fact is you have a player that didn't try out who made the Varsity team and is a TRANSFER into the program. You tell me - how does that happen? It sounds like this transfer student is actually the better player than the P kid according to most people's opinions - but add that to the fact that these two families vacation together. Really?
As far as the decision being made - they're probably all good kids and I wish the kids the best. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Eigner picks the best hockey players. Period. Doesn't matter if they are freshman or seniors. All 3 of the "P" kids can play, bottom line. The other freshman who "transferred" that didn't try out and made varsity is one of the best players in the state for his age group and will be a top 6 forward night in and night out for the varsity. Should they have made him start the season on JV for the first 4-5 games to avoid this BS because he didn't try out? Likely. It looks bad. However he does deserve to be on the team and had he tried out he would have easily made it.
HockeyMom- for someone who has "no dog in the fight" you sure do have a special interest in the topic. You are not fooling anyone (other than yourself).
