Predictions and comments for the first 'Big' 2013 tournament for 12A

Pool #1
Home team Edina Green sets themselves up for a relatively easy #1 overall seed. OMG and Roseville are not what they used to be and Rosemount lacks the players to stay with the defending champs.
Pool #2
This pool comes down to Mpls Storm vs. Stillwater. The Storm may have more speed, but Stillwater has the top end players. Edina White and Centennial will not be able to keep up with the other two teams. My pick is Stillwater in a tight game against Mpls.
Pool #3
Definitely the deepest pool in the tournament. Maybe Edina is desperately hoping that someone knocks off WBL, but I don’t think so. Woodbury and Lakeville South are potential top ten teams, but WBL has all the ingredients for a dominant team. Minnetonka is a solid squad, but can’t compete in this group.

#1 Seed – Edina
#2 Seed – Stillwater
#3 Seed – WBL
#4 Seed – Mpls Storm

Semi #1 – Edina over Mpls – Should be a track meet and we will see some scoring, but Edina wins 5-3.
Semi #2 – WBL over Stillwater – These District 2 teams will see each other a lot this year and have some great games, but WBL is a better team right now, 3-1 Bears.
Championship – In their fifth game of the weekend, WBL runs out of gas against an Edina team with more skaters and a much easier path to the championship. Edina Green over WBL 4-2.
