Games of the Day - Thurs. 12/19

Bagley/Fosston vs Lake of the Woods
Hoping Bagley can put up some numbers and only lose by single digits.

Centennial vs Maple Grove
After beating DEast can Cent keep on rolling?
MG surprised some people on Tuesday night, do it again???

Farmington vs New Prague
South of the metro I get a little lost, but think this should be a good game.

Mankato West vs Rochester John Marshall
Might West get tested???

South St. Paul vs Hill-Murray
Must be some sort of rivalry here.....

White Bear Lake vs Stillwater Area
Can WBL rebound? Will Stillwater ever have a better than good team?

Grand Rapids VS Edina
Eden Prairie vs Elk River
Two games of minor significance.

They are gonna be tough to beat. I got them 'winning' the Edina tourney, but anything can happen with EP, ER and Edina.

Two undefeated teams playing has only minor significance? I'm looking forward to every night of this tournament, especially Saturday's games.

Yes, if you are a MN high school hockey fan, not just a one school follower, EP & ER is in your thoughts.

The only test of the Mankato / JM game will be how long JM can hold West off the board. If West continues to play, they should contest 1A at the end of the season.

Another game missing is Anoka at Duluth East. I'm assuming it's actually happening even though I'm basing this off of mnhockeyhub.com.

I would think East can take this one, but from what I heard, their first period against Centennial was terrible. Hopefully East can avoid another 3-2 loss and win this one 3-2 instead.

West, very good team so far but they haven't played ANYONE of significance as of yet. Jury still out on them IMO! Agree that they will be the team to beat in Sections tho.

Would love to go to Braemar, but it will be the last trip to Red Wing for AHA so I have to go and root for my team. GO STARS!

DE could've "easily" won state the last 5 years.

The Hockey Hub says the game starts at 5pm. I know that site is unreliable, but are you sure about the 5:30pm start time? Thanks a lot.

It's officially at 5. Just checked with the activities director.

Hounds win 5-1. Only anoka goal came from a 5 on 3. Finally started to show some offense which is nice to see.

Very nice to break out of the 3-2 rut, even if it wasn't against a stellar opponent. The first period again wasn't great, but they still scored twice, and after that they really ramped up the forecheck, and Anoka barely managed a clean breakout in the 2nd and 3rd periods when not on the PP. Hat trick for Bunten, and Trapp had a great game as well.

On to Andover.

EP takes it 3 1 (en). Great game that came down to defense and goaltending.

Elks could've EASILY won though. Meanwhile, the Hounds should jump to #1 in the rankings after defeating the Anoka Tornadoes. Heh
