Roch Lourdes

Post by grandmeadowhockeyfan »

Lourdes is not exactly peppering the opposing goalies in there games are they? 8 shots through two periods! The previous couple games have not been good either. Tough to score when your getting under twenty shots on net per game! Good luck there Lourdes fans!!!

West 10
Winona 0
I was at the game. West's top line did not skate at all in the third period

Thanks for the update. Hub had it at 4-0...it seemed a little low...

Red wing is absolutely terrible this year. Going for the record for worst record in team history. May not even get 1 win this season

Red Wing has been on the decline for a while now. The coaching change away from George Nemanich a few years back made the issues more visible. The talent pool is not there, neither is the work ethic from the players. In a way, their performance is completely reflective of what they (the players) have put into the program for the past few years and the greater part of the decade in youth hockey.

It isn't where it used to be and will not be for some time.

I see this being Mankato West's section to lose this year. Good group of kids back from last year that have the experience now, and with the way Lourdes has been playing lately (hardly generating ANY shots), I see it being a three horse race between those two teams, along with New Prague.

Is there a station carrying the MW Faribault game? Can't depend on Hockey hub for updates. :(

While not 1A, Mayo & John Marshall play tonight as well. Interersting early match-up, and two big cross town games in a row for JM after last Sat game against Rochester Century.

Mankato west

Post by grandmeadowhockeyfan »

Wow. They have quite a team. Anyone who wants to slow them down better stay out of the penalty box. The know how to execute, on the penalty kill they are very good also. Killed off a five minute, a five on three, and two other pk with no goals yet.

By the way albert lea and Mankato west both have great goalies. 3-0 Mankato west after two. Could be a lot worse if it weren't for albert lea goalie.

Al vs MW

Post by grandmeadowhockeyfan »

West win 4-0. Could have been a lot worse. The only concern with west is they sometimes have lulls and they lay back some, so a good team could really take advantagd of that. They get caught being lazy and do get penalties due to that, penalty kill is great but you cannot take to five minute penalties and a five on three too often I one game and come out ahead. Will see how they do against a down Lourdes team and new Prague, those are the three contenders. Albert lea showed some grit though. I would not take them to lightly when playing them. Hard nosed team with a lot of hard working players playing as a team.

West 6

Mayo and West should be a good game, those two seem heads and shoulders above the rest of the conference.

West has 5 shutouts on the year, they have only given up 4 goals this year. They haven't played the most difficult schedule!
