Eagan (5-3) @ Cretin (6-1-1) 12-23-13 2pm

Post by HShockeywatcher »

The only game being played for 3 days, this game has big section implications.

Good luck to both teams.

I've sworn off posting predictions on Wildcat game scores this season, but short of a herculean effort by CDH (or a massive cat meltdown) it's hard for me to see how they score 4 on a full Eagan defensive line-up. I'm looking forward to it being a great game.

Section implications are this....let's assume that STAA will get the 3AA top seed. Who wants to be 4th seed and face them in the semi's? CDH needs to win today to position themseves for a 2 or 3 seed. If Eagan loses, they would probably have to sweep the Eastview home+TCF series to get the 3 seed.

The 2pm game will be webstreamed by Eagan (although it's billed as a joint production with a Cretin parent/Eagan resident co-announcing): http://www.wildcat-hockey.com/page/show ... s-webcasts

He played Sat against Kennedy, and I'm unaware of a reason why he wouldn't be playing today.

No worries, I'm sure MNHockeyHub has it covered.

Sorry, they ended up sending signal out on CDH's webstream, and didn't get that link until later.

2-1 final, Eagan scored last 3 min of game to make it exciting, but couldn't get anything going with the goalie pulled. Cats had scoring opportunities, but couldn't capitalize. Still juggling lines.

Overall it was a good back and forth game with some big saves and big hits (and one "unnecessary roughness" penalty that I think was the new "targeting defenseless player" rule enforced).

Play was pretty even in the first, leaning more cdh's way and it was 1-0 after 1. Eagan controlled a lot of the second but couldn't bury, and the third was CDH for the most part, scoring to make it 2-0, then Eagan scored one towards the end but it was too late. Great game to watch.
