The 99 Colorado Thunderbirds are a much stronger team than the 99 Madison Caps that were here last week. I believe the T-Birds are ranked 18 in Tier 1 AAA rankings and Caps are 46. T-Birds will play some of the top Minny Association teams starting Friday. T-Birds coach is Russian and loves this Minnesota weather. Should be interesting once again.

Does anyone have a schedule for this jamboree. I know there are several Friday day games at BIG.ThePuckStopsHere wrote:They get a cream puff the first game with the overated ElksSnoopdog007 wrote:The 99 Colorado Thunderbirds are a much stronger team than the 99 Madison Caps that were here last week. Iowa teams don't count...JSR wrote:Nice, should be fun..... Don't have the scores handy but from what I heard it sounds like the '99 Caps beat ALbert Lea pretty soundly in all three games last weekendold goalie85 wrote:Colorado team should be here today for some games. Seems like more all the time.

Schedule
The schedule for this weekends Thunderbirds vs Bantam AA is:
Thursday 6:40 vs Edina at Made
Friday 12:45 vs STMA at BIG
Friday 6:15 vs Elk River at Ridder
Saturday 9:00 am vs Stillwater at Ridder
Saturday 4:45 pm vs Lakeville South at Ridder
Sunday 10:00 am vs Woodbury* at Cottage Grove
Sunday 2:30 TBD between to top teams from the weekend
*The game vs Woodbury is not part of the "Jamboree". It was scheduled due to it being my son's former Association.
The coach of the Thunderbirds is Sergey Krivokrasov. Blackhawks #1 pick in 1992 I believe. He also played for the Wild and Predators as well as several years in the KHL.
Should be a fun weekend

Wow, brutal schedule, 7 games in four days, yikes. The 5 game sshowcases in 3 days is usually enough to completely and totally drain my Bantam, can't imagine having to play two more.... good luckRusty Blades wrote:The schedule for this weekends Thunderbirds vs Bantam AA is:

Colorado Thunderbirds - 3
Stillwater BAA- 3
Pretty good game. Stillwater had a few more chances. T-Birds are pretty good and were only skating 12-13 players. Stillwater seems a little off their game this weekend. Maybe the three 5 game weekends in a row is catching up to them. Of course Colorado is playing 6 games this weekend and they seem pretty fresh. Good job T-Birds.

The Elks looked very impressive this morning. They really move the puck well. I saw the 1st 7 minutes and it was already 3-0. LVS didn't look ready to compete this morning. There is no question that ER is the most consistent team so far.ERPWA Hockey wrote:Elk River Elks 6

On behalf of the Colorado Thunderbirds U14 Team I want to say thank you for a great weekend of hockey. Many of our parents commented on how welcoming the other teams were and how much fun they had this weekend.
The boys had a great time and enjoyed the spirited competition. Maybe this should become a yearly event.

Maybe somebody who has multiple kids playing hockey. "My Bantam", "My Squirt", etc. It'sa way for him to identify which kid he is talking about.Minnesota57 wrote:Who refers to their kid as "my Bantam?" You could use "my freshman", "my bantam" and "my surprise."stromboli wrote:Yep, I now refer to my freshman, my bantam, and my mite.SCBlueLiner wrote:Maybe somebody who has multiple kids playing hockey. I guess you are right.old goalie85 wrote:Your very odd !!! Most people w/multiple kids do. I refer to m9ine the same way. AND I'm normal !!!!
How is your Chevy Blazer driver?, Your 4th hour social studies student? Your movie-goer? Your ham sandwich eater? And your magazine seller?
Not odd at all.
I would hope your sons and daughters are a bit more than a "bantam" to you. Perhaps not.
Nope, just hockey players in development to be my future retirement source as NHLers, or maybe NHL coaches. The mite might have to work a little harder than the other two, but she should have a shot if she just commits to my master 10 year plan for her development.Minnesota57 wrote:I guess you are right.old goalie85 wrote:Your very odd !!!
