South St Paul Premier Tourney
Eagan vs New Prague - Eagan won this matchup last year 3-0. Trojans are improved and Eagan is streaky.
Hastings vs Woodbury - Both teams down this year!
Hermantown vs Red Wing -Watchout for wingers,SNUCKUP on HA.
North St Paul vs South St. Paul - Should be a good one.
Who wins it?

Strong goaltending has never really been Hermantown's strong suit though. It has always seemed to be their weakest link in recent years.InYourFace09 wrote:Goalie was very shaky. Wow, Red wing got 4?

FYI - 1st goal 2 on 0, 2nd goal 2 on 1 shortie, 3rd goal goalie should of had, 4th goal pp. I watched the game and thought the defense pinches way to much, to many blue line and neutral zone turn overs

Pretty sure that was also due to the score being what it was at that time and the D making their rushes. Red Wing couldn't stop a rush, so the Hermentown D were getting their own practice. The Hawks controlled the pace the entire game and when Red Wing would score it was one trip down the ice, shot and goal.HockeyBum wrote:FYI - 1st goal 2 on 0, 2nd goal 2 on 1 shortie, 3rd goal goalie should of had, 4th goal pp. I watched the game and thought the defense pinches way to much, to many blue line and neutral zone turn oversRoy01 wrote:Strong goaltending has never really been Hermantown's strong suit though. P.S. That shorhanded 2-1 goal was a shot that banked off the back boards to the other side of the net the Red wing guy got it and shot a back hand to the net, goalie should have been able to move to the other side of the net by that time.

In a rematch of last year's final, it's Eagan (7-4) vs Hermantown (8-1) at the SSP Premier Tourney final tonight. 7pm start.
Hermantown livin' large after another blowout last night...11-0 against SSP. Eagan's offense finally woke up against Woodbury, putting 6 on the board in the 2nd period against Woodbury on the way to an 8-1 final.
If the Wildcats want to make it 6 championships in a row, they're going to have to stay out of the box, and get something on the board early (not that this isn't the basic recipe for 90 percent of the teams out there).

Hermantown
Could Plante have found a softer tournament in the state? this is pathetic
for a team that has played in A final for as many years in a row as they have..no wonder they can't win when it counts..

You just summed up the last 20 yrs. of Polar Hockey. I'm pretty sure lack of discipline and leaving the first line on the ice is Jerry Diebel's hockey philosophy.urban iceman wrote:New Prague-5

NSP HAS A NICE TEAM BUT THEY TAKE TOO MANY PENALTIES AND REALLY
OVER USE THEIR TOP PLAYERS.
