Nope, just hockey players in development to be my future retirement source as NHLers, or maybe NHL coaches. The mite might have to work a little harder than the other two, but she should have a shot if she just commits to my master 10 year plan for her development.

You sir are the odd one. You are on a youth hockey message board which the primary intent and purpose is to discuss youth hockey. Further there is a very good "rule" on this site to not call youth players by name, I do have more than one hockey player and we were discussing Bantam age kids in this thread so since this is a youth hockey forum and I do not wish to call my son by name I referred to him as "my bantam". No differently than I might refer to him as "my 8th grader" if I was discussing school subjectss with another parent, or I might call him "my U14" if I was discussing his soccer team (again to differentiate him from his younger brother and sister who also play those sports and also to provide context to the person I am speaking to)..... Considering the context it is neither odd, nor strange and nor do I pigeon hole my son in real life as any "one" thing. Someone coming on to a message board devoted to hockey and calling someone out as "odd" for referring to their child within their player age group within proper context is the odd thing, if you are that "dense" this does not sound like the right place for you. Back to the original topic, just met a Dad whose son is with the 99 AAA Carolina Jr. Hurricanes. They are playing Stillwater, Buffalo, Tonka, and Edina BAA this weekend. They are no joke....ranked #6 or 7 nationally, and the head coach is a former Mr. Hockey, ably assisted by a certain Rob Brind'amour.

I had the chance to watch them play in Pittsburgh a couple weeks back. Nice team. Upper echelon team, no,... but nice and seemed to be Coached well.

There is no "pot and kettle" scenario here. There is literally just you on an island, all alone, digging yourself a deeper and deeper hole....

Rumor has it that Edina PW is going to Border Battle tournament next weekend where they will play mid ranked Tier I teams. Also hearing rumors that #3 PW Chicago Mission team is coming to Minny for 2 games vs. Edina and then 3 games vs. others.

That's the way I took it as well. Look at what has been happening. Tier 1 teams, recruited All-Star teams if you will, have been paying thousands of dollars and traveling hundreds of miles to come to Minnesota to play community based teams, and have been losing. Tells you something about the quality of hockey in the state and elsewhere.
No need to go anywhere as there is high quality hockey right here.

JUst to be clear, the idea that Tier 1 is "recruited allstar teams" is a bit of a misnomer outside of a very select few. I'd say he Mission for example fits that definition and a few others but I would say that definition does not apply to the majority. The majority are more likely defined as collections of kids who have above average skill but play in areas with way way below average hockey teams and coaches and they look to play in places with better coaching and better talent around them, but I call it a misnomer because there are tons of kids from the areas where the Tier 1 teams exist that are way better than the kids on the Tier 1 team but for whatever reason choose not to play there. The point being MN is the strongest hockey state and no one I have ever met argues against that but you should be clearer on what Tier 1 really is and what it is not.

I agree. The Madison, WI area is also at a tipping point right now in that regard, not sure which way it's going to tip yet, if association base is going to start to reign supreme or if Tier 1 is going to improve and retake the reigns. Not sure yet but its obviously teetering down here as well.....
