Yeah, IF ONLY.....

I would wager that Apollo would like to have their three horses back too. I bet their record would be better.... You play with what you have.....

It's going to be quite a finish in 2A, with Princeton and Sauk Rapids fighting for THE spot. C'mon Sartell and SCC, you're gonna have to step against these two, think you have what it takes?? Wanna hear not that you do, but WHY....

Thanks for all the effort from you guys in not only giving your rankings, but some details...

If Stockler would have stayed instead of going to Billings to play Juniors, the line of Miller, Bacon and Stockler would have been top 5 in the state. And we prob. could have made a run at the title. but hey if its and buts were candy and nutz we'd all have a merry christmas
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

what I cannot believe is that there are 127 replies to that query. Section 2a? The all star team couldn't represent well in a state tourney.

All Star team

Post by ptown tigers »

Our allstar team would kill any team in state A or AA. Think about it, Hjellie and Daegnasis in Goal. Larson, Brown, Ross, Wocken, Horbacz and Ackerman. Keep the line of Englund, Bacon, and Schneider together. Peskemp, Streit and Bushy. keep Brant, Gross, and berglund together. Then I would also keep Mora's top line together with Horbacz and Grabowski, I cant think of the third guys name.

That team would kill anyone in state.

What would you guys put as your All Star team from 2a
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

Has anyone seen the latest state rankings on Minnhock.com? If you went by that, the section would look like this:

1. SR
2. Catherdral
3. Princeton
4. Sartell
5. Mora
6. Moose Lake
7. Proctor
8. Denfeld
9. P.C.

new rankings

Post by 2ahockeyman »

Yeah thats weird. But if you compare how both teams have been playing recently, youd have to give SCC the edge. But overall talent wise, i think Princeton dominates.

Jared Culver, maybe you should stop giving the edge to your hometown team.
<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

Mora

Post by JokaPlaya »

I've read previous posts reguarding Mora. I've noticed that they have had some on or off ice troubles. How long is Grabowskis suspension, and what did he do? And whats the deal with Akkerman, hes got great talent but can't stay out of trouble.

From what I have heard Graboskie was caught smoking which is his second chemical supension so he is out for 11 games and Ackkerman ton of skill no head he has the most tatlent but will never become anything cause cant keep his head tied on striaght. And Mora the last 2 years now has had a hard time staying out of trouble. Hope that answers your question.

Akkerman

Post by snaphock25 »

He's got the I'm supposed to be the big shot, everything was given to me attitude. He would be a great player if he had a solid mental game. Yet, when your not capable of staying cool and playing for your team, you struggle like he does. Karl Larsen and Matt Wocken are the exact oppisite of Rickey. They don't say much out on the ice, and flat out play for they're team. If Mora had more depth, he should have been kick out a long time ago.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Hermantown

Post by snaphock25 »

Hermantown lost to from what I hear a poor Duluth Denfeld team. Even if Hermantown played bad, they should have not lost. Denfeld is at the bottom of this section. So why should Hermantown be in this section? They would be a top 4 seed, but not 1 or 2. This section is going to suprise people down in St.Paul.

hermantown

Post by minnhocky3 »

yea they did lose to Duluth Denfield, but on Dec 19 they lost to Duluth Marshall 4-3 in Overtime and on Dec 30, they tied International Falls 4-4. These guys have been having an up and down season. I still think they would win this section. I guess we'll see how they match up to Sauk Rapids-Rice on january 24th.

Hermantown would win this section hands down. Heck, maybe they would even win a game in the state tourny. You know every other team in that section wont ever do it. I keep reading ppl talk about princetons first line. I played against them last year and they arent that good. Sure, that englund kid did look like jesus......that doesnt mean they're a good line. If those 3 kids are one of the top 5 best lines in the state, i'm moving.

Hermantown lost to the 8 or 9 seed Denfeld they lost all creditablity right there also the only reason they tied I Falls was because it was the monday after that tough Rochester Tourny which they had to play down in Rochester on Thurs. Fri. Sat. and come all the way home get a day off get back on the Bus and go all the way to Hermantown so nice job scheduling by the I Falls AD and Hermantown your very lucky to have got to play a tired team cause they would kill you now and you would only be 4 or 5 seed in this section this year. But fear not Hermantown they change the Sections again after this year and I am sure Hermantown will whine and complain and be back next year but this year Hermantown you are an average team and that is it. Also how can you say not some of the best kids in the state on Princeton line Bacon is top 15 in points and I bet Englund would work any kid or defenseman in the state in the corners. So please Hermantown stop whining.

Proctor 7 Moose Lake 4

Post by The hockeywriter »

Moose Lake jumped out to a 3-0 lead and the second period and held a 3-1 lead going into the third and then fell apart giving up 6 goals. Procoter dominated the game in the shots deparment 33-13 in favor of Proctor and this shows that Moose Lake is not there again this year they are a bottom feeder in this Section once again big win for Proctor as they get back a track with a big third period and a big Section WIN.

Moose Lake 0-3-1--4

Proctor/Albrook 0-1-6--7

First period -- No scoring.

Second period -- 1. Proctor

Post by IndianHockey30 »

I saw the 2nd and 3rd periods of this game. Shots in the first were something like 10-2. Sounded like Proctor dominated the 1st but Moose Lake's goalie kept them in it. Moose Lake dominated the second and were really rolling. They gave up a weak goal off a face off with only a few seconds left in the second to make it 3-1. That seemed to be the turning point in the game. Proctor dominated the third and out worked M.L. M.L. started to run in the defensive zone. M.L. looks like they are couple guys short of being a good team. Proctor got a big break on the go ahead (5th) goal. They dumped the puck in and it hit a light in the ceiling, a guy picks it up and puts it in. It was an exciting game to watch though. It literally looked like 2 different games. That line of Tailrico's looked good. Proctor might scare some people in the section, no real stars but they work hard and have one line that can score. I didn't see Proctor play Princeton, but it sounded like Princeton was too deep and Princeton's D took control of the game. Lack of depth and consistancy will hurt both Proctor and M.L., but either team could upset someone. If Proctor had their starting goalie back, they could be real tough.

Hmm good reprot yeah if Proctor does get there starting goaltender back they could be scary to all teams but Princeton and Sauk they are right now really above the rest and SCC is tring to get up there but there weak schedule wont allow it until later in this year but all 3 are looking like they are taking over but all of these teams will be scary come playoff time cause that is a new season.
