Princeton 1st line

Post by A Hockey 99 »

I have also played against them, I would have to agree that they really are not that good. Regarding Englund being in the top 15 in scoring, there is a little factor called level of competition that you have to factor in. Example: 4 out of the top 5 top scorers in the metro are from St. Paul. The teams are really not particularly good, not top 10 at least. Is it just a coincidence that none of these four kids are being mentioned for mr. hockey or all-state or even being mentioned at all? They play against horrible, horrible teams. I'm not saying that Princeton is a horrible team, but there are quite a few insanely bad teams they play against. My point being Englund being high in scoring doesn't mean much and that line is nothing amazing.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... hockey99>A Hockey 99 at: 1/14/03 9:14:21 pm

RRC

Post by ptown tigers »

The RRC is just about rapped up this year, its not for sure but if we win against Mora on Thursday, and if we win next thursday against Chisago, Both home games the RRC will be coming home to Princeton again. even though it is probably the worst conference in hockey.
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....
Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... gers>ptown tigers at: 1/15/03 8:23:54 pm

Tougher Schedules

Post by 2ahockeydude »

Just was doing a little surfing while on break: Noticed Mitch Hawker's rankings and couldn't help but see the ranking of the teams' schedules, as well as their "last 5 game" numbers... The teams have schedules from as low (weak) as 4.4 and as high (tough) as 7.8. The top four teams also have the toughest schedules - SR and Sartell at 7.8, SCC at 6.6 and Princeton at 6.3. These teams play some competition and I think it's showing in their performance. (OK, Denfield is there too, but they're not doing much..)

Also, if you look at Hawker's ratings for the last five games played by these teams, SR has a 9.17, SCC has an 8.61, Princeton is 7.34 and Sartell is a 7.17. (Drops into the fives for the rest..)

His order of ranking overall for 2A:
1) Sauk Rapids
2) Princeton
3) SC Cathedral
4) Sartell
5) Mora
6) Proctor
7) Moose Lake
<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)"> Denfield
9) Pine City

Overall Ranking of Schedule - Toughest first
1 T) Sauk Rapids
Sartell
3) Denfield (not improving..)
4) SC Cathedral
5) Proctor
6) Princeton
7 T) Mora
Pine City
9) Moose Lake

Overall Ranking for "Last 5 Games"
1) Sauk Rapids
2) SC Cathedral
3) Princeton
4) Sartell
5) Dendfield
6) Moose Lake
7) Proctor
<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)"> Mora
9) Pine City

I predict a three-way battle for the playoffs:
SAUK RAPIDS
PRINCETON
ST CLOUD CATHEDRAL
Sartell (dark-horse, but can't be counted out)

Let's DROP THE PUCK!!!

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek">

Just to add some to schedules

Post by 2ahockeydude »

I threw a bunch of numbers up in my last post... hope it wasn't "too much". The point I guess I was trying to make is that 2A's top teams also play a tough schedule. I would say that the difference between the top and fourth is probably one team.... in the entire schedule. I think that the teams that are playing the tougher teams are going to "show up" come playoff time... I wouldn't bet against any of the teams (top four) that are playing the tougher teams, and doing well...

OK, had to try to make my point.... <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Mora

Post by JokaPlaya »

I had a chance to see Mora play. I noticed Akkerman was playing forward. He did very well. I was just wondring why he is playing forward. Also, I think Mora could make a serious run if they stay out of trouble.

My guess would be Ricky is playing in place of Growboski while he is on suspension. That is just a theory. I will see when Princeton plays Mora in Princeton tommarow, should be a good game.
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

Good team but no depth and they get in trouble they just cant do this but since reading the post by P-town Tigers about winning the Rum that Princeton is cocky and Mora is fighting for wins right now and I think tommrow night a game I will be going to will be won by MORA no not a typo Princeton seems cocky and Mora needs the win to stay in the race not only for the Rum but the section that is my prediction I will break down the game by position later on tonight but as of now my pick is Mora I think Princeton is over looking a good team.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... writer>The hockeywriter at: 1/16/03 12:54:01 am

Princeton vs Mora

Post by Thehockeyplaya »

I don't feel Princeton is over looking Mora one bit. Every time these two teams meet it is always a good game, even if you team isnt having the greatest year both teams always seem to have a little extra because many of the players from both teams skate toghther in the summer and they both realize that eitheir of the teams is capable of winning.

If you'll notice I said if we beat Mora. We are not over-looking them one bit. Mora is a good team, who always comes to play. Espiecally against Princeton. You can never overlook them. They have a great goalie in Hjellie. One solid line, and a good pair of D. I think it will be a good tough game
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

princeton vs. Mora

Post by classAhockey »

I think that Princeton really thinks they got this game wrapped up. Don't count Mora out though, they have a hard working team with some players who can produce. The Princeton team is really starting to sound like St Cloud Cathedral with the attitudes they are producing. I hope to see a win for the Mustangs to cool down these RED HOT TIGERS. They are in need for a swift kick in the ass....Go Mustangs.

Mora vs Princeton

Post by 2ahockeyman »

I agree, with Princeton playing so, "red hot" they might over look Mora. Mora is a fairly strong team, and have great goaltending. If princeton keeps their heads, they should have a victory, im prediciting 5-3 princeton.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":\">

I dont see why everyone thinks Princeton is overlooking Mora. We know they are a decent. They always play very good, and alot of them know us very well because of summer leagues and stuff like that. All I said was that the RRC looks to be wrapped up, IF we can beat Mora and Chisago on the upcoming Thrusdays. Because the remainder of out conference games are BLB and STMA. And pine who can be tough with their goalie.
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

Mora vs Princeton game Breakdown

Post by The hockeywriter »

Here is my scouting report and breakdown of the big game tommrow between Mora and Princeton I will be there it should be a fun one Princeton is hot but might be over looking a scrapppy good Mora club game should go down to the wire.

GOALTENDING: Hjelle Mora: He is a very good goaltender if you look at the scores and see like 3 or 5 goals against you don't understand that Mora this year is giving up an average of 30 shots a game which is very bad this kid can take over I think he will be on tommrow night and will make it very hard on Princeton. Osmundson Princeton: The big guy has big good as of late looked good against Mora last time he has really stepped up his game as of late if he plays solid Princeton will win but we shall see I think Mora will get a few more oppurtunties this game he will need to continue to play as well as he has of late.

DEFENSE: The groups are like this Mora has Akkerman and Princeton has Larsen they are both about equal with Ricky having a little more skill but Larsen has the better overall game. Then it goes M. Horbacz and Ross both are about equal again Both have alot of skill. Then and this is why I love Princeton's D you have Brown really underated is a very good defenseman who gets no notice cause of Larsen and Ross against Kastenbauer huge advantage for Princeton. Then Jorgensen who is also a really nice player vs Crawford of Mora Huge advatage again in Princeton's favor. I mean Mora has 2 good D but Priceton has 4 and can really take over a game from the Blueline.

FORWARDS: Well Mora's first line is not as strong now without Grabowski but still a good line in N. Horbacz, Corbett, Nordstrom (who is a 10th grader filling in) the line is still very good even without Grtaboski but wont be able to keep up with the Englund, Bacon, Schneider line who is really playing well they have dominated every line they have faced latly. The Advantage is Princeton on the First lines. The second line for Mora consits of J. Horbacz, Greski, Kirschner a decent pretty underated line they do a nice job and are alot better then people think for Princeton Miron, Pangerl, Dufner a very good line as well I think they have speed grit and skill Miron a big kid who gets things done and Pangerl I think has the potenial to be really good and Dufner is a good player who shows flahes of greatness. I think again Princeton has a slight avantage. And the third lines Mora's which is Raivo, Hosley, and Peterson or Akkerman this line is not good young and not experinced and they wont play alot Mora will run 2 lines . But Princeton's third line of the Seniors Fuller, Braun, Bowen have a huge advantage here they are a solid group with alot of experince the big boy Bowen who hits like a tank and Braun who has tons of speed and then Fuller the most skill of the line shows flashes alot like Dufner. Big advantage for Princeton here.

My Prediction: Although Princeton has alot of adavntage here there is one factor we havent looked at Princeton has alot to be over confident about and I think will over look Mora they could get down early and not get back in it if Hjelle plays well I am taking Mora here in an Upset but we shall see I am excitited to see this game.

Princeton 6 Mora 3

Post by The hockeywriter »

Went to the game tonight and was impressed by Princeton for there first 2 periods of domination and the third was sloppy on both sides. Princeton jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead only to have it tied and I was thinking there they are cocky and Mora will take over and then with 2 seconds left in the period Larsen ripped a shot from the point and scored and changed the whole game in the second Princeton took a 4-2 lead and then the turining point of the game happened Princeton took a cheap 5 minute major penalty and was able to kill it off and then right after they did so they scored 2 pretty goals first one really pretty pass from Bacon and Englund buried it .Then the second goal with only 10 seconds left in the secon Larsen made a reall pretty pass to Brown and he buried it to make it 6-2. That when things got really ugly M. Horbacz then punched Brown in the face and a little brawl happened but the only penalty going to M. Horbacz for fighting and a game misconduct Mora looked very undiciplined tonight and the third was ugly sloppy on bith sides but Princeton gets a nice 6-3 win . Players I thought looked good on Mora's side Ackkerman played very well as did Corbett. On Princeton's side the big 4 were Bacon, Larsen, Englund and Brown all played very well tonight Bacon and Englund were controlling up front and Larsen and Brown were contolling on the Blueline. This was a nice win I have to give Princeotn alot of credit they are playing good hockey.

Things are starting to look bleak in Dragon land they need help fast.
