Not as many double digit spreads as he was used to in HS either. I'm betting that CC will let him bake for another year in Tri-City.SuperStar wrote:I don't follow the Tri City much, so I can't say one way or another. But he probably would like to have some more points, but I am sure that will come..Its always an adjustment for these guys. Different city, players , enviroment, ect...I did read that they recently fired the whole coaching staff and replaced them, so that could be a factor.

By virtue of his last name, Jake never had any lack of recognition. That said, I think there were some questions about him since his biggest assets are his hands and his vision, not some of the more obvious things like size and speed. There were also a number of critics during his high school days who said he was simply riding on the coattails of his father and his linemates. I think many of those critics were seeing what they wanted to see and passing their grudges against Mike Randolph off on Jake, but the questions were there.northwoods oldtimer wrote:I agree about Jake Randolph having outstanding Junior career. Just to see where Jake compares to past USHL scoring leaders. I looked at the last 5 years to see where the eventually leading points getters where at after the first 34 games of thier particular season. If he keeps it up, he is on his way to become the highest point getter in a single season in atleast the last 5 USHL season
First 34 games of the season
13-14 Randolph - 57points/ Season total....?
12-13 - Camaratta - 56 points /Season total 93 points
11-12 - Kevin Roy - 52 points/ season total 104 points
10-11 - Blake Coleman - 50 points/ season total 92 points
09-10 - Jaden Schwarts - 51 points/ season total 83 points
08-09 - Andrew Miller - 55 points/ season total 82 points

Maybe underrated was the incorrect word. I think a lot of people judged him as Karl mentions because of his last name. He has never been a great skater but his hockey iq is through the roof and his puck handling and head up play certainly trump his lack of skating. The USHL is a great league and for him to be putting up the type of numbers he has are insane.northwoods oldtimer wrote:I agree about Jake Randolph having outstanding Junior career.
