SCC 7 Delano 1
SCC plays a very weak Delano team and wins easy as they should they came out and took care of business and I think it is safe to say they are in top 3 now they are playing good hockey but are not playing high quality oppenents and it is not there fault there confrence is just really bad and they can't help it but they are playing strong non the less. Big 4 point night for Koopmeners and a big night as well for Dahl both are the studs or horses for SCC they will carry these guys I still dont see them as good as Princeton or Sauk Rapids but they are better then everyone else in this section. Should be fun to see if they can stay hot they improve to (11-4) with the win tonight.

St. Cloud Cath. 2 2 3--7

Delano/R/WM 0 0 1--1

• First period: SCC--Mach (Anderson), 3:26. CAthedral is just superstars. They are awesome. They will win it. Look at the first line and the rest of the squad. Even the managers are superstars on this team. The Stats and playing ability just show it all. Watch out for eric dahl being mr. hockey this year.

Wins against highest ranked team?
In 2A, what team has beaten the highest ranked team in the state? I know that SR is playing well, but to be honest, who are the beating? The CLC (a former highly-respected coach in the CLC calls it the TLC Conference) isn't much to look at. I mean Apollo, River Lakes, Willmar... not exactly lighting the hockey-world on fire.

Anyway, I know that the top three have played and won quite a bit, do you know who the highest ranked win is against? I'm guessing SCC against Austin at Christmas break... but not sure... Anyone?????

Oh, one comment on two of the above notes: Princeton beating Mora and SCC beating Delano .. I saw the Princeton game, and beating Mora 6-3 should be an embarrasment (sp??)as Mora is not a good team (one player, and he's on the ice all the time... you know who he is, and he is good), and I saw the first SCC game against Delano early in the season, and to beat them 1-0 early, and then 7-1 last night says quite a bit. I heard that SCC started playing their 4th line players for experience as early as the second period.... hmmmm.

Anyway, any answer to my question will be appreciated.

highest ranked win
From what I could see from scores, I think SCC does have the highest rated win over Austin, who is at 61 this week on pagestat. Yet, Sauk Rapids has a tie with St.Cloud Tech who is 14AA<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":\"> , but they were ousted in a shoot-out during the holiday tourney. Sauk is rated higher than Austin, so I really don't think that it matters who has the best overall win against a ranked oppenent. The fact is that Sauk plays a stronger schedule than any other team in this section. This may be the lone factor that gets them through section 2. "Lone Factor"- because with only 4 players carrying this team its hard to do anything. Therefore the matchup on Feb. 11th between Cathedral and Princeton, will be a slight preview of a section semi-final or final. As I see it now.

1)Princeton
2)Sauk Rapids
3)Cathedral
4)Sartell
5)Mora
6)Proctor
7)Pine City
<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)"> Duluth Denfeld
9)Moose Lake and the sisters of the poor<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":\">

SCC 7, Delano 1
I was at this game, along with the game that was at The Saint Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex, and I compared the two games and SCC has much improved. They have picked up the game speed and there passes are much faster and shots taken quicker. Delano was not a very skilled team, and by the score we can easily tell. The game was clean and solid, until the 3rd period when Delanos fans got out of control and Delano just tried to take peoples heads off. I saw the 4th line started playing 5 minutes into the second ( SCC) and were the line scored on. Delano ran mostly 2 and some of 3 for their lines. I agree with snaphockey25, Princeton vs SCC will be a good game.

Mora 7- Denfeld 5
Mora gets a huge win in a come from behind victory over the Hunters from Duluth. Mora entered the third period trailing by a score of 4-2 but battled back to win a close 7-5. Big win for the Mustangs who continue to improve, Akkerman was spectacular toinght with a hat trick and two assists i believe, must have finally started to play hockey. Play Pine City on Tuesday in which the Dragons seem to be struggling as of late, pine city edged them lsat time 2-1 but look for the mustangs to want some revenge come tuesday night.

Moose Lake has yet to learn to win at the next level. They have been able to beat the teams they should but need to have the confidence that they can beat some of the intermediate teams.

They're just good enough to cause someone some trouble. On 2ahockeyman and Section 2A
2ahockeyman-Ok first of all I was at the Mora vs Princeton and you must either be the Cathedral coach who I TALKED TO THERE AND I DONT THINK WOULD BE YOU or your one of his players that he brought with to the game and from what I took from talking to the coach he knows that to beat Princeton he is going to need his best effort of the year from his team. Also he knows that Mora is a good team you add graboski and they are very tough and will give you ( by that I mean I know your a Cathedral player) a really good game as well your schedule is weak and you have wins this year usally you cant do that and I think you guys are a good team but dont rip on Princeotn or Mora cause they will both give you guys a game. And on the other note I am going on vaction YES!!!!! So I hope you guys keep this thread up to date so when I get back next sunday I will be able to see what happens.

Here is how I see teams right now( these are not in order as like rank):

Mora- needs to get there players back but beat denfeld without M. Horbacz and Graboski very impressive but still got dominated by Princeton long way to go.

Sauk Rapids- really hitting the tough part of there schedule in this year's weak CLC they will lose alot but they need to continue to play well cause they have the talent to win this Section.

Sartell- keep improving boys you guys are a solid team not alot of talk about you guys you have the speed to beat anyone will make noise come playoff time.

SCC- playing good hockey but against weak competion look who they have next long praire grey eagle come on thats terrible but you guys have a decent team but stop with the big heads cause you are the team i am picking to get upset this year but hey keep winning.

Pine City- In alot of trouble right now got 2 big games this coming up week against Mora and Princeton win them and you are back on track lose them and well stick a fork in these Dragons they will be done.

Denfeld-thought you were getting better but then lose to a really shorthanded Mora Hunters are good team improving but still in the bottom part of the section.

Moose lake- sorry rebels the number 9 seed is coming your way no big wins this year but hey your right you are alot better then last year( I mean how coulndt you be).

Proctor- this is a rtail team who is going to be i will say a number 6 seed and will give the number 3 seed SCC who i was talking about earlier all they can handle this is a very very good team once there goalie gets back.

Princeton- I thought you guys were really playing well you had everything going yiou were playing so well but then a lose to CP makes me doubt you guys alot but big game with PC in PC beat them and you will keep your unbeaten record in the section whcih is big but right now this team still has alot of questions surounded it I know they could win but I see alot of reasons why they wont.

Well I got my golf clubs ready and I am ready for the Arizona sun I hope you guys keep updaing here is my Section playoff games ( as if they were to start today):
#8 Pine City
over
#9 Moose lake

#1 Princeton
over
#8 Pine City

#4 Sartell
over
#5 Proctor

#6 Mora
over
#3 SCC

#2 SR
over
#7 DD

#4 Sartell
over
#1 Princeton

#2 SR
over
#6 Mora

My Section Final and Score: SR 5 Sartell 2
That is how I see it turinig out.

My Section outlook
I think that this Section is really really even in talent and everything I think the winner will be just who is playing the best hockey come playoff time i mean you have to hit your peak in the playoffs not like right now and I think when it comes down to it that anyone can win this section.

Neither am I a Cathedral player nor a coach, I am simply an alumni that likes to follow the program. And I didn't intend to "rip" on Princeton, I just said that they are playing good and Mora is a tough team and that it would be a close one, and which my prediction was somewhat right. Yes, Cathedral has an easy schedule, it's not like they can change that, but did you ever look at the Princeton schedule? It might just be easier. Sure noone will give Cathedral any credit until they beat a top ranked team but what's wrong with playing solid hockey against teams that you can't help you play?
<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes">

What do you mean they cant change that, tell your coach to schedule diffrent teams. it is your coach who makes your schedule.maybe he just likes winning not getting beter!!!

hey just cuz you are fat and could never play hockey (just wish)!! you have a little to learn, princeton sucks they have no talent. you think they are gods because of one state tournment ran, which they lost ever game. i hate scc with passion but they are playing much better hockey then "#1 princeton." maybe you should watch us(sauk rapids) play same really hockey.

i have some advise for you hockeywriter
1. get a life
2. watch ever team in the section, and then rate them.
3. we are kids and want to play hockey

Scheduling
I do not think it is the coach that really does the scheduling. Sure at points he wants to pick his games but the Athletic Director has the last say on everything. Cathedral got put into a worthless conference because the Central MN dispanded. They could not do anything about it. Therefore they have to play 6 games in their conference, 2 against Benson, LPGE, and Sauk Centre. So yes, this schedule is brutal. I believe they should have been put into the Metro Alliance Conference, with Delano and LDC from their old conference. Then they would have got 2 games with Benilde, Orono and Mound. Thus, they would have a well rounded schedule. To bad they are stuck playing in the central minnesota farm league, aka West Central Conference.

saukrapids stupid fan
Are you serious? Princeton would walk all over you any time. Its going to get hard to stay competative with 2 forwards and 1 Defensmen as your whole team. Plus, you really should start attending a class called English. At this class you will learn the finer points of grammar and the english language. Yes you are a kid, and yes you shouldn't worry about hockey. As of now, worry about the books, then play hockey. The kids don't ever get it, high school hockey only last for 4 years, so learn how to speak and you might eventually succeed. Getting back to your rip on hockeywriter. Hockeywriter can at least put up a sufficient comment about a team, and have conclusive knowledge, unlike anyone from SR.

Snaphock25, srsuperfan03 isn't from Sauk Rapids, but if he is, he is making his high schhol look bad.

snaphoch25
Other than saukrapidssuperfan3 (who must be a mini-mite, by the way he talks about Sauk Rapids) I don"t believe their are any players from Sauk Rapids on this mesage board about secition 2A. I think they are reading everything are the other 2A team are writing and waiting until the play-off and let the game decide the out come and not their words.

Re: who will win section 2a
now i am not a scc fan but they are playing good hockey and could make an upset. i noteiced at the scc game vs delano that their second line center was out. i was very impressed with they play of the third liner anderson. he has size but is alittle slow but makes the right plays and is in the right place at the right time. i don't see him being a huge threat in the future but he knows how to put the puck away and the more expirence him and his linemate noack get alittle more expirence they could be a very soild 3rd line for the playoffs. scc's 1st line had a good game to with 19 hall i think laying some bodies. and big koop and dahl putting the puck away.sauk rapids should win this confrence with out any problums if they play well with pecskamp they have to be the favorites. with out him they will lose in the first round i have never seen this good of a one man team but he is a great player and can get the job done and put them back at state. like former sauk rapides star nate radins did.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... >snipe7 at: 1/20/03 11:11:39 am

UM...... SCC didn't play and doesn't play Denfeld ??????? Are you sure you were at the right game or did you just mess up the team name just wondering because they didn't play Denfeld.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... 33Three at: 1/19/03 9:46:26 pm

Who will win section 2a?
Who is this Anderson kid, I haven't heard of him. Maybe I don't want to, because I get sick of hearing about all these other CHS players, let's talk about Mora. Now they have talent. Akkerman impressed me with his play as of late. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

about that brian anderson kid, i got a chance to watch him play in a game not to long ago down at benilde. he has a nice touch and knows what to do with the puck. sees the ice well for a big guy, doesnt have a second gear yet, but that will come. he has great size and if he adds speed to his game, he'll be a good player.
