With about 8 hours to go before our 7:00pm deadline, we're up to 28 contestants. My entry will make it 29, leaving us just one short of the magical 30 mark. 
Three interesting tidbits about the group's predictions for tonight's games:
1. The Edina/Eden Prairie game is currently deadlocked at 13-13-2.
2. Those two predicted ties are the only ones for all the games this week.
3. The Achiever Academy/Burnsville game is also deadlocked, at 14-14.
Should be a fun night!

Lots of games around the State have been postponed this evening, but of our six it appears that four are being played. The Mound Westonka/Totino-Grace game looks like it's been moved to February 1st, and the Buffalo/Wayzata game shows postponed but doesn't appear to have been rescheduled as yet.
One game is underway for sure: the Hub is showing Burnsville and Achiever Academy knotted at 3-3 with about 7 minutes to go in the 3rd period.

Final from the Burnsville Ice Center:
Achiever Academy 5, Burnsville 4
Achiever Academy came back from a 3-1 deficit and scored the next four goals, including three in the 3rd period, to beat the Burnsville Blaze. Former Minnesota Thoroughbreds player Katie Lynch had a goal and two assists for the Aces, as did Briita Nelson for the Blaze. Burnsville outshot Achiever 32-17.

Achiever Academy 5, Burnsville 4
Achiever Academy came back from a 3-1 deficit and scored the next four goals, including three in the 3rd period, to beat the Burnsville Blaze. Former Minnesota Thoroughbreds player Katie Lynch had a goal and two assists for the Aces, as did Briita Nelson for the Blaze. Burnsville outshot Achiever 32-17.

Minnetonka 0, Hopkins 2
Hopkins got goals from Grace Bizal and Nina Rodgers, and Erin O'Neil stopped all 31 shots she faced to shut out the No. 1 ranked Minnetonka Skippers. Jilliane DeYoung got the first assist on both Royals' goals.
About two-thirds of our group favored the 3rd ranked Royals to win this battle, and there were two correct scores, by MIYY4U and D6 Girls Fan.

Benilde-St. Margaret's 5, Blake 3
BSM's Caitlin Reilly scored twice and added one assist to lead the No. 4AA Red Knights past the second ranked Class A Blake Bears 5-3 at the Blake School Ice Arena in Hopkins. Kelly Pannek assisted on three of the Red Knight's goals while Alex Lovaas scored twice for Blake. Shots on goal favored BSM by a 31-25 margin.
30 of 32 prognosticators picked Benilde to win, but no one predicted the 5-3 score.
Still waiting on a score on the Edina/Eden Prairie game, assuming it wasn't postponed...

I see that the Buffalo@Wayzata game has now been moved to 2:30pm on Saturday, January 25th. So between this and the Mound Westonka@Totino-Grace game our total number of games this week is reduced from 19 to 17. Quite a few scores being reported on the Hub, but NONE of our four Big Games so far. I did see on minnesota-scores.net - and confirmed by a Forum Member friend - that it was:
Buffalo 7, Orono 3
Buffalo was favored by just over two-thirds (22 of 32) of our group. But nobody expected the Bison to score more than 4 goals, much less explode for 7. In fact, the average predicted score (CW) was 2.94 to 2.22 (3-2).

Breck 1, Blake 3
Carly Bullock notched two goals in the 2nd Period to lead to Blake over Breck at The Blake School Ice Arena. Alex Lovaas assisted on both of Bullock’s goals, and Karlie Lund had a goal and an assist. Breck’s lone goal was scored by Amanda Navratil. Blake launched 49 shots on Breck’s netminder Jenna Brenneman, who saved 46 of them to keep the game within reach.
Correct scores were the story of the night here as a whopping EIGHT got it right, while 21 others added a point apiece.

Riley Wedan’s goal – her first of the season – at 14:29 of the 2nd Period was all the Blaze needed to get past Jefferson/Kennedy at the Bloomington Ice Garden. Both teams had 24 shots on goal, with Burnsville’s Lauren Bench stopping all of them in posting the shutout.

I’ll give it 20 more minutes for the TRF/EGF score to come in, then I’m retiring for the night! But for all the fellow night owls out there I will post an updated Leaderboard before hitting the sack!
