I am back from the Arizona Sun and I have read all the posts from the people good job guys way to keep up on it. My Big winners were : Sauk Rapids and Princeton My Big Losers were: Proctor and Sartell but I am going to go through every team one by one and write my scouting report what it will take to beat them how they will win and I am not doing it in order of power ranking just as I get to them.

Mora
MORA MUSTANGS
Head Coach: Corey McKinnon
Record: 10-7-1 PR (5)

Key Players: Ricky Akkerman he has the most skill on this team he is very smooth out there quick hands good with the puck makes things happen huge shot. Nick Hjelle very good goalie is the reason this team is so dangerous this kid makes every game a tight game he is a great goalie. Corbett Horbacz and Grabowski a very good junior line they are very talented can put pionts on the board very fast. Mark Horbacz a very good sophmore defenseman moves well with the puck has a nice shot and good speed a very solid player overall.

How they will win Section 2A: Because there one line could put a few away early and Hjelle could hold it if they give this kid a lead the other team is in trouble because he seems to get stronger in the nets as the game go on. This team is very capable of doing this it seems when they do take the lead earlier and he holds they keep coming stronger this team is very capable of beating anyone in this section.

Why they wont win Section 2A: because of lack of depth they will not be able to keep up with a team with depth and if you can get on them earlier it seems as though they get very cheap and ae not very displined cheap penalties have killed this team all year they need to get up and stay up cause if they get down i dont see them coming back.

My Prediction: I think they will win there first round game but will get beat in the semis I think they are top 4 but they are not better then the top 3 teams but we shall see as they get a shot at Cathedral later on so we shall see.

Princeton
Princeton Tigers
Head Coach: Todd Frederick
Record: 14-6-0 PR (2)

Key Players: Karl Larsen this kid is a really good player big time defenseman has all the tools to go far he is very good. Tony Osmondson and Culver both are young good goalies who have both gotten better as the season has gone on. Englund and Bacon big time forwards these kids are really good i ahve been impressed by them everytime I go and watch them play.

Why they will win Section 2A: Cause they have the most depth in the section this team is solid up and down there line up 3 good solid lines and 4 good defenseman. They have a really good shot they can skate with any team and they can wear you down they have good goal scorers and play solid D. There goaltending situation is getting alot better.

Why they wont win Section 2A: They need a #1 goalie they seem to play every other time you cant have that in the playoffs it is one kid and he leads you and I thought they had picked Osmundson who is good he is big and can take a beaten but then they are staritn Culver alot now it is not a good move they need to pick one kid if they dont there gaolies will not be used to going 3 straight games. So I hope they pick one soon our there fate will be one with DOOM.

My Prediction: I think they will get to the Section Finals but I just dont see them beating Sauk I think this a good team but not good enough to beat Sauk but we shall see but right now i think they come up a game short.

SCC
St.Cloud Cathedral Crusaders
Head Coach: Brent Boerger
Record: 12-4-1 PR (3)

Key Players: Adam Schleper big big kid has a nice shot good with puck but is slow of foot. Joel Rindelaub he is a good size goalie 6'0 but he has really bad angles and cant contoll rebopunds I have not been impressed with him. Hall Koopmeiners and Dahl this is a nice line they dont have speed besides Dahl btu they can move the puck they do all the teams scoring they play alot not alot of depth btu they do a nice job.

Why they will win Section 2A: If they can slow the game down to there speed and not take stupid penalties they can beat teams btu they need to get the game slowed down but they do a nice job of clutch and grab and can slow you down and if they can keep the oppents shots to a minium they can win.

Why they wont win Section 2A: A team with good speed and depth will beat them they have a nice first line but it really drops off after that they have some nice defenseman but no speed back there and they need to stay out of the box which it seems to me they cant do.

My Prediction: I think they make it to the semis easy but they will have a realy tough time there they are not up to the Princeton or Sauk Rapids level it would be a big upset to beat one they wont beat both but look out for this team next year.

Sauk Rapids
Sauk Rapids Storm
Head Coach: Sheldon Weston
Record: 11-5-1 PR (1)

Key players: Matt Wocken best defenseman in this Section doesnt get enough credit he is very good with and without the puck has to play all the time and never seems to get tired. Joe Dagenais very good goalie this team gets outshoot every game and he keeps them in it he is a very good goalie can carry these guys on his back. Peckskamp Cook and Streit the best line in this Section they are very talents and they have the best player Peckskamp these guys are just very talented.

Why they will win the Section: they can score on anyone and they play very good defense they are just a really dangerous team they have played the top teams all year and are doing very well this a real nice team i really think it is the Storms year.

Why they wont win: Not alot of deoth teams could maybe wear there D down but I dont think so also if Dagenais or Peckskamp get hurt or dont play well they will lose and you can count on that.

My Prediction: I see them winnin this section and making some noise at state these guys are good and no body has gave them much respect besides videoscout this team is the real deal.

Re: There it was
I want to see Sartell's Scouting report. they are young and I think have a chance to upset any one of these teams. I think they will be a big surprise come playoff time. They are the only other team I see with a chance in the section.
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

Scouting Report
This report is very good, but i've watched this section alot and seen the teams in it, i will gurantee a huge upset over either Princeton or Sauk Rapids early on in the Sectional tournament. Every year a lower seeded team has won a game or two , to get to the section finals and i beleive it will happen again this year. I've heard alot about the teams i heard Sartell has really picked up their level of play, forced princeton to a 6-5 victory the first time they played they could be a team to surprise a few people. Pine City played Mora tough and Princeton tough even though the outcome of the Princeton game does not show it through the score, but come playoff time it seems like they are always ready. Proctor has got almost all of their players from last years playoff team back, these kids know what it takes to win as they did last year in beating mora in the first round, it could help them to boost their ability, I'd like to hear some of these teams reports, Yes Sauk and Princeton are playing the best now, but when playoff time rolls around, anyone could win on any given night, depending on how well they play.

Semi's and Finals
is it possible to change the spot of the Finals playing spot? The Cloquet is a great arena, but having the Section 2A finals there is not going to be good for either team, seeing as how the chances of it being Proctor or DD(The only teams semi close to Cloquet) in the Finals. I say they switch around the Semi's and Finals spots. Have the Semi's at Cloquet, and the Finals at the Mac. Just like last year. Geographicly that would make more sense.
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

Win the section
I think that there definetly will be some upsets come playoff time. Pine city, mora and sartell have good goalies that can pull off the upset.
Although Sartell plays 2 goalies Leget is a stronger player than anderson and plays well when he has to.
It is always interesting to see which teams come to play during the playoffs. Especially teams you don't expect to win.
Should be fun to watch.

Semi's and Finals
The location of the finals are normally set to rotate north and south every other year. Either at the MAC or in Cloquet. It's the fair thing to do since you never know who will be strong in any given year, however, there are usually alternate arrangements made just in case two northern teams are in the final and the final is located in the south and vice versa. I'm sure that will be the case again this year. If two southern teams make the final, I'm sure the game will be relocated.

By the way....you forgot that Moose Lake is only 20 minutes from Cloquet. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

SCC vs. Marshall
All I've heard about was how Marshall was missing a couple of players... Are you sure that SCC had all of their guns blazing? What I've been told of the game, it sounds like there might have been some missing pieces to their puzzle as well...

When it's all said and done, and the season is over, all the whining about "we/they were missing so-and-so, it wudda been different had they been there..." doesn't mean crap.. A team has to play with what it has at the time... If Princeton or Saud Rapids have one or two key players out for any reason come playoff time, they'll probably lose. There is NO provision for missing players in the game guys.... if a team loses, it loses... if a team wins, it wins.. simple. THAT's why a team needs depth...

Now, let's go drop the puck...

Re: SCC vs. Marshall
I dont think anyone was trying to make the fact taht Marshall was missing 3 guys an excuse, because why would we really care if you beat or lost to Marshall. I was just saying both teams looked sluggish, and neither impressed me much at all.
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

P-Town- Chisago Lakes
What does everyone think about this game? It is not a section game, but it is an important RRC game. Chisago needs to win this and there next game to take home a piece of the RRC title, thy should be pumped. I am predicting a close game. What does everyone else think? What are your thoughts on the rest of the weeks 2A games?
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

Princeton-Chisago Lakes
My Prediction:

Goaltending: I will give this part to Chisago lakes, just got there goaltender back who left to play at Hill Murray but didn't get a high enough position so decided to return, very good but if lots of shots are put on him he will crumble.

Defense: Princeton wins this by far, Larsen, this kid is unreal on the ice, he's got so much talent out there, it also helps to have 3 other very good defenseman back there, Chisago will have a tough time getting around these boys. Chisago Lakes, one good defenseman in Phil Hoffman, plays alot but will make mistakes if lots of pressure is put on him.

Forwards: Lets say Chisago Lakes doesn't have much. Manthey , goes to Hill Murray but gets cut, saw him play didn't impress me much but is good in the corners. Bruder, bigger kid, quick shot, but no speed. Not very much talent up front for the Wildcats. Princeton, 3 very solid lines that can play at any time in the game, first line can put up numbers with Bacon, England, and Schneider, if you let one of them get open you will be in trouble.

Prediction: 7-1 princeton, they will have to much energy and excitement, Chisago will come out playing flat. Congradulations to the Princeton Tigers as they will capture the RRC title for thes econd consecutive year.

RRC
IF Princeton beats Chisago(Which i think will be a much closer game then ClassAHockey thinks) we will most likely go undeafeted in the conference (Lets face it STMA is not going to beat princeton). Does anyone know if any other team has done that in the RRC?
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

Undefeated teams
I know that Sauk was undefeated in the conference the year that they went to state, other than that I'm not sure.

Princeton - Chisago
Haven't heard.... Score?

With all of the hype, I would assume Princeton won??

Chisago/Princeton???
Does anyone know the score of the Chisago/Princeton game. I am assuming Princeton won but you never know Chisago could've pulled it off.

Did someone say 7-1????
Startribune website has the game 3-0 Chisago Lakes.
That's why the usual ptown posters haven't said anything. They would have been here at 10PM last night if they had won. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">
