Hermantown said goodbye to an old friend yesterday.

His last moments in this world were spent skating on the outdoor rinks next to the Hawkdome. The same rinks he took such pride in keeping perfectly smooth. He was the guy who ran the Zamboni and shoveled snow, but he was so much more.
I hope each of you has a guy like Tim in your organization. I hope you take the time to say thank you and appreciate what makes him special. I hope you treat him like a member of your family.
The warming shack and outdoor rinks at Hermantown will go on, but will never be the same…………
Much has been discussed on the “why” of HTown’s success. All of them play a part (proximity to Duluth, schools, socio-economic, committed people, youth association, etc.), but at the core of it are the thousands of hours the kids spend on the outdoor rinks and the people that make it possible.
