Breck ( Quality of team posts)

Post by grandmeadowhockeyfan »

Looking for fans, parents, or other people who have seen Breck live. I always value posts by the owners of the forum but am looking for anyone who has seen Breck play live to post reasons that Breck should be ranked top five. Information to include anything that you feel separates them from the other 150 teams in high school hockey and puts them in a top five ranking.

#8, #18, #42 and 7 or 8 other guys who can score on any given night. Their goalie is pretty awesome, or at least has been in the games I've seen this year.

I have seen Breck play live twice this year, are they a top 5 team absolutely NOT they should win the class A you know the little tournament. but not in the same class as the AA schools if they want to be recognized as the top level team they have to move up to AA and quit picking this fight with the little schools..

Looking for information about quality of team not a debate about AA and A level hockey. Comment on quality of team.

I stumbled out of the woods to see first hand Breck lost to the spuds and they have some nice players but the best one i saw is not even mentioned on anyones list unless they got 18 mixed up for 19.

19 was 2nd leading scorer overall at select 17s and not even invited to the 54s. [-X

Please tell me how this happened

That's because 99.9% of the "open" spots for the 54's and natl. camp were already taken before the first puck dropped. :P

Regarding Breck, of the top four in A, them, egf, Warroad, and Htown, Breck has more depth, which shouldn't be a surprise, being a private.

Warroad is a one line team, while egf and Htown have more depth than Warroad, but not as much as Breck.

That must mean teams like Providence Academy, Rochester Lourdes, Legacy Christian, Minnehaha Academy and Achiever Academy all have lots of depth as well.

I was at the Breck/Moorhead game on Saturday.
Breck played very well the 1st two periods.
(Led 3-2 and outshot Moorhead 22-14)

But something must have happened between the 2nd period and
3rd period intermission because Moorhead came out flying and
dominated Breck during the 3rd period and OT to win 4-3 in OT.

Even though Breck is 2 and 3 in their last 5 games, they have lost
to Moorhead 4-3, Duluth East 2-1 and Edina 4-1.

They need to find a way to get more consistent scoring from
all 3 of their lines to be a threat come playoff time.

Breck has a number of high end players and a great goaltender, but #8 is their best player.

"EGF and H-town have more depth than Warroad" - wow !

Warroad has more wins than both of 'em - wonder wicht counts more at the end of the season ?

I was going to tear into you, just a little bit, about that pre-determined/political comment regarding HP 17s tryouts.

Then I saw your board name, and I just couldn't. Slap hands! O:)

Since it's not the end of the season yet, I guess we'll wait and see, eh ?

Unless seeding, etc. is now done via mid-season win/loss record ?

Also, without looking, hasn't Warroad played more games too ?

I'll stand by my statement that Warroad is a one line team, and the other two are not.

Warroad has played two more games...

Also, how can you argue the lack of depth that Warroad has? One line has almost 80% of the team's goals...that being said...nobody, not even EGF has been able to really shut them down, so until that happens they've got to be one of the favorites.

If Breck is going to schedule so many games against AA teams, and with all star players, why don't they move up like STA finally did?

Maybe because they don't have to and don't want to?

I hope they don't ever move up. I really like Bruce Plante from Hermantown. I think he's a great hockey coach and a great guy. That being said, I cheer for them to lose to a Private at State every year just so I can hear what he has to say. That's the best part of the A tournament for me every year.
