If I was the parent of a top player and they had to play with number 30 and I had the option to go to a AAA team in the winter I would certainly look to do that. I think many others would look that direction as well.

what does everyone think about that? We are all blessed to have association hockey, we should do everything we can to keep it. Forcing things like making everything "even" will drive top players out to AAA.

Just my thought, maybe I am way off.
I would assume you are correct.

IMHO ... the top team should be the top team. In this case "AA" (1-15).
After that, numbers should dictate how many "A" teams, B1 teams, etc.

So we are blessed to have association hockey. However once the kids get to high school they are leaving anyway. So association hockey is doing what? keeping the kids together until they are in 8th or 9th grade then they are going to AAA hockey or juniors or the WHL so does it really matter if those kids leave in 6th grade since thats when AA and A split?

Yes, we are absolutely blessed to have Association Hockey. It's the only thing that makes Hockey the great experience that it is in Minnesota. If we ever lost that, it would be a tragedy. That needs to be kept in mind any time any decisions are made.
