I'm guessing that the Metro-area personal injury lawyers are well aware of the fact. They're just waiting for the first case of kindergarten frostbite to be reported on a school day where the wind chill was just as cold (or colder) than previous days where classes were cancelled (or on days when adjacent school districts were closed).upnorthfan wrote:Has anyone mentioned to the metro area that it is winter time???
But getting back on topic....District 196 after school activities and games are on for tonight. So anyone anxious to see Apple Valley play Eastview can head down there in confidence (no worries about where they're playing either). I'm hoping/assuming that the same applies for Eagan @ Burnsville and Rosemount @ Prior Lake, but that's not our school district's call.

Happy - is this correct? AVs Twitter says AV/EV is recheduled for Thursday night with girls at 5 and boys at 7?? I just checked the AV school calendar and it confirms that the game is changed to Thursday. I guess just because the District Office says that the games will be played as scheduled doesn't mean that the two high schools couldn't (all on their own) decide to postpone the game. My bad.School is canceled Tuesday, January 28 due to the extreme cold morning temperature. The temperature is forecasted to increase and the wind-chill warning lifted by this afternoon. As a result, all high school after-school and evening activities will be held as scheduled, but all elementary and middle school after-school activities will be canceled.
Upnorthfan....I suppose those hardy Up North kids walk to school uphill in both directions? That said, you can be certain that there are plenty of Metro Area parents that share your opinion. And the howling will get even louder once districts start adding days to the calendar by shortening Spring Break or extending school into June.
