Was in the Hawk's building last Friday night for the Hawks Bears game and for what it's worth, the Hermantown DJ was by far the best arena DJ I have experienced in years. It was one of those nights where every song that was played made you look at the guy next to you and say, "Oooh...good tune"
Outstanding job man!

Also it's not just that a song is good in of itself, but has to be played at the right time to match the flow of the game. UAA's old DJ would do things like play Welcome to the Jungle at the 8:40 mark of the 2nd period. Unless you're down 1 and going on the power play that makes no sense to play that song in that situation. I also can't stand terrible cliches like playing Jeopordy when there is a ref review or that country song about driving the zamboni whenever it's time to zam the ice. Those types need to have their DJ card permanently removed. Okay, I'll get off my soap box now.
For the record, the guy who is the DJ at Amsoil Arena for the 7AA playoffs is another really good one.

AGREED! I said on the White Bear Lake broadcast (The Horn) what an amazing job he did. Mixed it up, old and new. My favorite was when he played the Skid Row. "I Remember You" is a fantastic song. And then he followed it up with Aerosmith. And then Daughtry. If anyone in Hermantown knows that guy, please let him know what a fantastic job he does.
