Player movement

Post by MrBoDangles »

How many talented players is your association losing/gaining this season?

Or have you heard of other associations gaining/losing?

Talking about move in/move outs--what's happening in D6? Edina/EP/PL are usually good for a few 9th grade move ins every year.

the districts officails are the ones that allow this to happen. How Many use a grandparents address in another community, yet they still lay their head at night at a home in their old community?

not hard to figure out. also consider how the honest tax payers feel?

its becoming AAA hockey mantality without calling it. we now have AA /A looks like MN is very close to True AAA hockey.

for those ready to disagree with me, i am all for doing what you feel is best for your family, don't get me wrong, i'm just stating the source of the problem. MN Hockey preaches COMMUNITY based hockey. but by allowing simple moves such as this it does not fit the original entent of the "community" rules.

Champlin Park has boys on their AA Bantam team that don't live in or go to school there. I can't believe more parents aren't upset about this when there kids got cut for kids that don't even live in district 10

From what I have saw at tryouts, Coon Rapids Bantam picked up a stud of a goalie from out of state. He's a first year Bantam from what I have heard.

I have to pipe in. I guess you could include my kid in the exodus. Don't know who else. Last year we had a kid that couldn't make the FL A team, but has done well at a good association. We had another kid that never played above B2 but was the high scorer on every team he played on -- including summer. There's a few that just left -- period. I think a squirt or two, too.

Mr. G. I didn't know there were reasons. Maybe I didn't read it thoroughly. I just thought it asked for how many left. They've had their share. Aren't you on the verge of losing another one in a few weeks -- possibly? There's all kinds of reasons. All valid. If things go well, we'll bump into you guys this winter.

White Bear and Andover have been brought up here and in other topics.

Any other associations end up better all of a sudden?

Simple to open enroll and be eligible for highest team at new association.
Is this new or has it been a rule for years? Complete elementary school and your eligible.

From MN Hockey Handbook

5. Changing Schools a. Players who change schools without a related change of residence shall elect one of the following: .......

2. Have full eligibility to compete at any division in their Association of School Attendance if they completed the grades offered in the school they were previously attending;
