Thanks for the sharp eye, AAA Dad, I've corrected my post above. As with my error in the AA contest, this was another typo and does not affect the contest scoring...must have been getting a little drowsy late last night when putting these two posts together!

The sun rising, 36guy being a smart a$$, and MNHockeyFan being perfect were the 3 givens of everyone's day. Guess we now know he is only human!! What's the over / under on how many times will he say to himself "what the hell was I thinking starting this contest" while he spends hour after hour at his computer for free

As an FYI to everyone, in case you were not aware and something that I just stumbled across, you can view and make good prints out of any of the brackets here:

Note the arrow down to go to any other bracket in either class, and either State Tournament when the field for those are set. As of right now the section tournaments are all up-to-date and the scores all appear to be correct.

All 20 contestants had the No. 1 seeded Prowlers advancing to the final and pick up 3 points each. In addition, Silent But Deadly, JohnnyBuck and hugo_lucas add another 2 by also predicting the score.

Just waiting on the EGF/Warroad result and I will then update the Leaderboard.

With Achiever Academy out of the running in 4A, here is how we'll handle our contest:

1. Their Upper Bracket semifinal win will not count. This game will have no effect on our standings, since everyone predicted AA would win. Everyone will have 3 points taken off their point total.

2. However, hugo_lucas was the only one to predict Mahtomedi would reach the Upper Bracket semifinal, so he will retain his one point earned for that prediction, since AA was not involved in that quarterfinal game.

3. The Lower Bracket points will remain as is - AA was not involved.

4. The 4A Final, which was scheduled for tonight, will be disregarded. There were just three prognosticators who predicted an AA/SPU matchup in this game, and those three all predicted an AA win...so disregarding this game will have no effect on our point totals.

5. Bottom line for this late development: hugo_lucas gains one point on the rest of the field, but he had earned that one point anyway.

Hope this makes sense for everyone as the reasonable thing to do!

P.S. Leaving for an early Valentine's Day dinner with my sweetheart - be back later!

Even with several points deducted due to the 4A situation, powerplayer and FishEye each added big points tonight, adding 18 and 16 to their previous totals respectively. Meanwhile our leader yesterday, AAA Dad, was only able to tack on 6 points so he takes a fall from 1st all the way to a tie for 8th.
