It's a VERY exciting time of the year for Minnesota Hockey with all runs to the state Tournaments beginning soon, or in the Girls case, already have!
It's also very exciting that the State of Hockey is hosting the Tier 1 Elite League Championships this weekend at the Schwans Super rink. There are Bantam Major's, U16 American Midgets, U16 National Midgets, and U18 teams from all over the U.S. starting play on Friday for the Tier 1 Elite League Championships! With 235 Scouts attending last years Inaugural Event, it's a sure bet that Elite-Level Hockey will be on display.
This is a great opportunity to watch players from all over the U.S., Canada and the World, showcase their skills.

Very good!!
More players will be drafted out of teams playing this weekend in Blaine than will be playing in the State Hockey Tournament in St. Paul next month. Very strong teams coming to Blaine this weekend.

Honestly..your statement is mute regardless...one event is the pinnacle of Minnesota High School Hockey celebrated by 16,000 or so fans per session for a week...the other will have 300 people max in any game at any given time. Trying to drum up attendance by saying what you said isn't going to help at all. Two different animals

Thank you for pointing that out. This tournament isn't even a Tier 1 tournament. For example Shattuck Tier 1 teams are in Chicago this weekend. This tournament is more like a Junior Gold national jamboree.Tenoverpar wrote:.More players will be drafted out of teams playing this weekend in Blaine than will be playing in the State Hockey Tournament in St. Paul next month. The U18's won't have many stars. Most of the kids at that age from those parts of the country who have any talent have moved on to juniors. The U16's and the bantams will feature most of the kids from Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Colorado who will move on to bigger things.WarmUpTheBus wrote:Like whom?Mr Hockey wrote:More players will be drafted out of teams playing this weekend in Blaine than will be playing in the State Hockey Tournament in St. Paul next month. The bantams would be on par with EP, Elk River, Wayzata, Grand Rapids, Edina, and the like. However, they wouldn't be clear favorites. Minnesota bantams feature a lot of the talented kids who'll skip HS to play juniors... just as some of their talented bantams will skip U16's and even more will skip U18's.

? It's the Tier 1 Elite League Championship. ? TOEHL is comprised of 20 teams. These are teams that have competed in a qualifying number of "Showcases" to earn points to play. Shattuck doesn't align itself with any leagues for the most part. They are "Guests" in a few leagues and compete where they want and play a nice schedule. Shattucks AA Midget team will be playing in the U16American Division in this Tournament.WarmUpTheBus wrote:Thank you for pointing that out. This tournament isn't even a Tier 1 tournament. I take it back. Watched U18 and U16 today and the 3 or 4 teams in each age group were pretty good. However, the parents of the U16 Victory Honda team were the most vulgar morons I have ever seen at a hockey game.roundhead wrote:? It's the Tier 1 Elite League Championship. ?
