They'd play the QF on Sat, give up their ice time at Gustavus, and then most likely reschedule for Gustavus for Monday. Monday would give kids a day off between each round. Tuesday would also be a possibility since the Final isn't until Wednesday, but probably less desirable as its unlikely the finalists would be able to afford to stay near Gustavus for the night. It's a 2h 15m drive for Luverne, the only other school with a 2h+ drive would be Morris-Benson, who will be eliminated by Luverne, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal for anyone either way, but it could be brutal on the skaters' legs to make that drive 3 times in 2 days before a section final. Not to mention the SF games themselves...

I'm not sure, this is just my opinion. I think they should move the quarter finals to Saturday, semi finals to Tuesday, and finals to Friday...maybe there's schedule conflicts with Gustavus. More than likely I guess.hockeyfan26 wrote:The games tomorrow could possibly be in danger. If so do the high seeds advance to the semifinals? How is this gonna go down?

Rumor I heard is semi finals change from Gustavus to high seed Monday. So games would be played at high seed Monday, maintaining Wednesday travel to st peter for final.
Would be interesting.
Really dumb to cancel these games today.
Why not play at 5pm or 4pm today instead of postpone into teeth of blizzard?? Maybe 3a secretary can clue us in??

Weather
It was really crappy in Luverne and surrounding areas lastnight. If MB would've came down they still would've had to go home (maybe) and weather that was at 6 or 9 it was pretty slick

Section and state games aren't automatically postponed because school was cancelled.
It was pretty bad in SE Minnesota this morning but the sky is now blue and the wind is supposed to die down so even though school was cancelled for many towns section hockey and wrestling are still taking place tonight.

Morris benson may want to have there backup goalie on the bench tonight instead of the stands... He may be needed early and often in this one tonight!!!hockeyfan26 wrote:The games tomorrow could possibly be in danger. If so do the high seeds advance to the semifinals? How is this gonna go down?

Roll the old LeSabre down cottage groove street down to Donaldson right to the bmia scout!!Section 3A HockeyScout wrote:Section 3A Quarter-finals Games Playoff Preview
#2 Seed Willmar Cardinals (11-12-1) vs. #7 Seed Windom Eagles (10-14-0)
# 2 Seed (11-12-1) Willmar Cardinals Preview:
Has a below .500 record overall but they have produced a solid (5-1) Section 3A record. This team has 12 seniors in its lineup with a great coach to go along with it. They are led up front by Seniors Mottinger & VanDenEinde and also had some scoring punch emerge in Sneaky Stealth Sophomore Kobienia. On the Blue Line Seniors Tollefson, Pendill and Block log a ton of minutes and with the reemergence of Senior Goosman in the nets Willmar is a very dangerous club.
# 7 Seed (10-14-0) Windom Eagles Preview:
Been a disappointing season for the Eagles on ice this season. They have been led by their solid sophomore Devin Nielsen & Solid Senior Zach Bartosh up front and very good Junior defenseman Jack Mellstrom on defense. The problem with Windom lies in the nets where they have gotten inconsistent goaltending all season. Windom has not been able to play the upper teams because o this but has been very solid vs. the lower half.
Prediction: I look for Willmar to get their playoff push off to fast start. They have 12 Seniors in their line up and will expose Windom’s defense and goaltending. Willmar will show Section 3A the true meaning of “Roll Cards Roll”
Willmar 8 Windom 2
