7AA Semifinal: Andover vs. Elk River

Post by karl(east) »

This game could easily be just as good as the first semifinal. These two NWSC rivals split their games this season, and both had to survive tight quarterfinals to get here.

Elks win IF Mac has a good game. Doesn't need to be spectacular, just solid. If not, it'll be a very close one.

Having Zerban still on the team would be nice right now....instead he is in Fargo with 0 goals, 0 assists and is -6 over 8 games....

I'll take the Huskies from Andover in this one.

This should be a good one on Saturday. 7-6 Elks game 1 and 5 - 2 Andover game 2. Split regular season. Who will get the edge?

So many good games on Saturday - hard to pick which ones to go to.

Andover has got the edge on this one! They have lit Berglove up for 11 goals in 2 games. Andover 5 Elks 3 Elks could really use the player they lost.

For some reason, Berglove seems to turn into a headcase when facing Andover since he became starter. Even though the Elks have beat the Huskies 4 out of the last 5 times, Andover has still managed to rack up multiple goals even when they lose.

After many close games the last few seasons, the Huskies finally turned the corner and beat the Elks at their last matchup. As the NWSC goes, Blaine and Centennial may be the classic old school rivalry, but Elk River and Andover is quickly becoming a new one. Andover fans are electric and loud and Elk fans are forever loyal.

Along with Rapids and East, this should be a fun section semi.

Tomberlin scores on a breakaway to put Andover up 2-1 in the 2nd. East will need to pay serious attention to that line if the Huskies win today.

Elk River kills off a penalty, then takes another penalty. 10:51 left.

Another penalty killed off for the Elks. Andover only had one SOG on that man advantage. Their first line seems to be out there an awful lot.

1:19 to go, Andover power play coming. Huskies call time out. Elks have been impressive with the lead.
