1 and 2 seeds will be EGF and Hermantown, dont know what order.
With NP (6), Totino (8 ), Mahtomedi(9) and Carheral (10) all being in the top 10 of LPH rankings, along with Orono (11) who I think deserves some credit for being a very good Breck team to go to state, I dont see them getting seeded.
I don't see how having an undefeated record against a very below average schedule can bump you up above any of those teams. Luverne played maybe 6 quality opponents this year in STMA, SLP, Kennedy, and MAYBE Willmar and Minnehaha. Other than that none of their opponents were any good. Tough to get seeded when you don't have many quality wins...
Section 3A fans need to get outside of Section 3A to see the rest of the hockey world.

That's what Luverne did by punching their ticket to the X!!
I am sure that Luverne would LOVE to schedule regular season games with other teams outside of the section, unfortunately there are not alot of takers. Many want to fault Luverne for that.
I would put them somewhere around 10-13ish.. Clearly proved they are a great team by the dominating section tournament but I still don't think they are to the elite level yet.

The CARDS in the top ten yet?
maybe, but I'm sure Orono moved up a few spots from #11 after BEATING Breck who was #4. Still leaves you with EGF (1) Hermantown (2) NP (6) TG/Mahto (8/9) Cathedral(10) and however far Orono moved up.

Bar down 27 you ever heard of the 1960 Flying Dutchman?
0 - 1 at the X. 0-1 at Mariucci. Nice season none-the-less. First Marshall and now Luverne. Never thought the SW corner would ever see the X. Wish them a big upset but not holding my breath.

ROLL CARDS ROLL
That is clever but not likely to help the cards roll
Luverne will be introduced to a whole new level of hockey. They will encounter a Hermantown forecheck that is relentless and a physical style that will test their toughness. Would be fun to see them make a game of it, but avoiding running time would be minor success.

Yup, run time for the hawks. Can i send a letter to the Hermantown locker room reinforcing that they will win in Run Time? They really don't even need to come to st. Paul until friday!
Cards D-Men will never be able to handle the relentless pounding of Hermantown forecheck. We'll see how good Meyer really is. I hope he makes a game of it.
First off Congrats to Luverne on winning 3A. You proved night and night out you were by far the best team in 3A.
Having said that I fear your "Roll Cards Roll" is coming to an end.
Hermantown is big and mean and will forecheck and hold the cards in their zone for long periods of time. Luverne will need a huge game out of Kendall Meyer just to avoid running time.
I hope they get it I hope it is a game would be great for 3A. But I will be wrong Hermantown in a landslide terrible draw.

While I don't disagree that it is a bad draw and they probably wont win... I just find it interesting you wait till the seeds come out just so you can rip Luverne again. Just stop posting on here. You have become an embarrassment.

This schedule might answer some of the questions about Seeding and Running time for The Card Rollers. Pay close attention to some of the School names on "The Schedule" as you will get a chance to see some of them at the X or Mariucci.
I don't think we need to be bashing Luverne. Yes, unlikely they will win a first round matchup vs Hermantown, but 27-0-1 regardless of schedule is tough to do. Everyone has off nights and they found a way to go unbeaten. I for one am excited that they're going to the X. New Ulm went three years in a row if I'm not mistaken and were blown out in double digits each time. Seeing Marshall last year and Luverne this year is good for these communities. You don't think youth players see this and want to accomplish the same thing? They may go 0-2, or maybe they'll win a game, who knows, but it's good for the growth of hockey in small communities and nice to see new faces at the X.

Should be a fun week! If Meyer plays out of his mind, who knows what could happen! Although, after seeing Luverne's defense struggle early on, I'm a little worried about Hermantowns forecheck and Luverne handling it.. Would love to see another Cardinal victory.
