Does anyone in the fargo area with cable one know what channel the tourney will be on or if it even will be? Any information would be greatly appreciated

They should nationally televise it. Put it on NBC sports or something or ESPN2.... I think it could grow into a huge national following.
DE could've "easily" won state the last 5 years.

Couldn't agree more. Going to miss it in St Paul this year but I would think being so close to moorhead some station in Fargo would pick up the tourney

In Grand Forks (Mid Co.) I have it on channel 322 (MIDS2), I don't know if that is any help at all.

Unless one of your local access channels picks it up, I'm not seeing it, checking out the listings using zap2it.com.

If FOX Sports North had the rights, I wouldn't doubt that they would put at least a few games on the national sports network FOX Sports 2, as they did for Hockey Day Minnesota. I can confirm it would be available nationally on one of the FOX College Sports channels, because the Wisconsin, Missouri, and other states that have their FOX Sports Networks affiliate broadcast their state tournament also have their games shown on the FCS channels.

One of the many reasons I wish the MSHSL would switch TV partners.

No way FSN would take the rights.... They have contract commitments with Wild and Wolves. No network affiliated station would take the MSHSL tournaments because they would have to preempt 13 days of programming during March sweeps time, and the league sells all of its tournaments as a package.

Streaming it live on KSTC Prep 45 will work if you have a smart TV or use your PC or Ipad / Smartphone. I cant confirm that any cable operator has it as of now. Maybe a SPUDNUT on here has the answer.

you can life stream it online on the 45 website or whatever, they are starting to charge this year though probably because of its popularity, its only 5 buck per day for 4 games so not to bad.

best of luck

With the addition of FOX Sports North Plus, they can do two games at once! The only tournaments affected by the sweeps are Football (November) and Girls Hockey (Girls Hockey), and just because they are technically affiliated with FOX means nothing.

As I said, other FOX Sports Networks have their tourneys on their stations just fine. I have a feeling that the MSHSL went with KSTC because they feel they can reach more people via over-the-air TV rather than cable when really, the opposite is true.

Most likely a money issue.

I imagine KSTC Prep 45's fees are much more agreeable than FSN's would be.

No coverage from direct TV in the Detroit Lakes area again. I will be watching prep 45 on computer.

Just an FYI for anyone in Moorhead with Midcontinent Cable who wants to watch the tourney, Channel 3 (KCPM) has carried the tournament each of the last 2 years and I believe they will again this year. It might not show them as covering it on the on-screen cable guide though for some reason.
============================
Well, I just double-checked the Midcontinent cable guide since I got home this evening and the A & AA tourneys are being shown on channel 322 (the same channel Roy01 mentioned before for Grand Forks). Not sure if this is instead of Channel 3 or in addition to it.

Cable One will most likely be broadcasting the State Tourney on Channel 14 in the Fargo/Moorhead area, as they did last year. In years prior to last, they aired it on KCPM (9)
