Nolan Schaeffer who played for Marshall left two years ago for midget majors and played up in the NAHL this year as a 97. Would have made section 3a a little more interesting.

Might be more fun to identify the players who would have gone to State had they not left for what they thought were greener pastures.

Well Hurley had a year left at Edina so he'd be back again. But, he's been there, done that.

I was actually thinking about the kids who are still playing high school hockey...until they and/or their parents decided that they'd have a better chance of making it to the Tourney if they transferred to another team. Only to have it backfire big time on them. But that would be rubbing salt in their wounds, and I'm in too good of a mood this week to do that.

Maybe next week. :P

Ahh, yes. The standard Do Not Take a Chance artice written by a guy from "back in my time". I think that this whole line of articles is being ghost written by the high school league.

The writer is ghosting for all high school coaches and is also defending the great HS Elite league his cash cow.

If players want to leave for other levels good luck to them and to the coaches now you can show just how good of a coach you are with the new players coming in.
BTW Metro player of the year leaving for Juniors and will stay there for his Senior season.

Add Luke Lijewski - New Prague, who played AAA in Omaha the last two years. He would be a senior with this group.

Im not sure any original question specific players can be named in a vacuum. Might be that all 40? that left HS last year could have affected the season in one way or another- not only their own team, but also other teams, the regular season, seeds, the playoffs, and the tourney. Both in direct ways and indirect ways, such as "rerecruiting" or coaching strategy.
