TV Announcer annoyances

Post by NLHockey »

Gonna have to go see some games in person. Announcers mispronunciations driving me crazy. It's not CH-sago lakes it's SHHisago Lakes. Sounds like SHI$ NOT CHIT. Somebody must have said something to them after the 1st ...they finally started to pronounce it correctly. Now they need to get some of the kids' last names right.

They have not been perfect.

But over all I will take them over some I have heard.

Parish is very arrogant and I really don't care to hear when he played for Bloomington Jefferson in early 1990.........

We'll see if they figure it out.....they only have to pronounce it for one more period, then it's over to Mariucci.

Yep. Then Hermantown will proceed to dispense with NP like they did earlier in the season.

I didn't see any of the games this afternoon, but announcers are usually a source of annoyance, especially during the Class A tournament where many of the players are not as well known as most of the top AA teams. I thought the most amusing, and also annoying, was during the championship game of the girls tournament a couple of weeks ago when the announcers kept calling Hill-Murray's Mekenzie Steffen "Stephanie McKenzie"

Thorne is so generic in his play by play.......... he has not clue who the teams are let alone the players. "Shot from the point, save by the goaltender"...... TV sound off and now listening to the MSBN feed on line......... TONS better

Big voice. No content. Seems to be fixed on a very small core from each team. My guess is Lou will be done with 50 years with Tyler likely celebrating another state championship.

Annoyance? Try having the network cut to Obama talking about the Ukraine. They're showing a split screen but the audio is on Obama. Grrrr.

Yeah, the last thing I need is for the Secret Service to be knocking down my door. I mean, one little terroristic threat via phone call....

Maybe you should take the word "arsonist" out of your signature, Lee? Just a thought.

Thorne will get it together soon enough. Can't expect much when the dude arrived only yesterday. Turning the sound down for the MSBN feed works . . .
