Wow! I'm no Eagan fan but HHF and almostashappy if the group two years ago had played like these guys they would have won it all! Really impressed with a total team effort. Hats off to the wildcats!

I can take solace in the fact that the better team won tonight. It's not a case where East got ripped off. They flat out got beaten.

It's not often that you can be proud of your team's effort after getting shut out, but tonight was one of those nights. The Hounds created some great chances in the 1st, had some good looks on their PPs, had that one puck swatted off the goal line at the last second in the 3rd...it just wasn't their night. Yes, things fell apart a little toward the end, but it happens. Eagan was just so good defensively, and in a game like this one, you just need to get a few bounces. Eagan got them, and East didn't.

For a team with four seniors (one of whom was nowhere close to 100% tonight) and less top-end talent than we're used to out of an East team, they've achieved an awful lot this year. Randolph pushed all the right buttons, but there's only so much he can do. Good luck to them at Mariucci tomorrow.

Congrats to Eagan, and good luck against the Southern Cake tomorrow night. If they play as well defensively as they did tonight, they'll have a fighting chance.

East just didn't get enough pucks to prime scoring areas tonight. Too many shots taken from long distance and/or wide angles, allowing the Eagan goaltender good vision to make the save without giving up rebounds. The Hounds had a few good chances, especially in the first period, but too few to have a good shot at winning. As the game wore on, Eagan seemed to gain confidence and was able to generate more opportunities on the transition, and if anything failed to capitalize when they had chances to put the game away.

On this particular night Eagan was the better team, and clearly deserved the win. Good luck to them tomorrow evening.

According to the Hub Edina outshot Eagan 40-26, including 20 shots in the 3rd. Edina did not score till under two minutes left in the third. Eagan won 2-1. So from Edina's perspective, if they are to advance, I think they will have to beat them at their own game with low scoring.

Seemed like they were just rotating 3 D men, mixing #22 in when they needed a breather. TV timeouts really seemed to keep them on the ice.

The TV timeouts allowed all of the Tourney teams to keep their best players on the ice for disproportionate amounts of time...how long were the Poehling brothers and Yon on the ice yesterday afternoon? And since they'll still have commercials during tonight's game, wouldn't be surprised to see more of the same.

On that topic I wonder if Giles will keep rolling lines. Did he only do that last night due to the lead or has he changed his style from a few years ago when the third line hardly saw the ice, far less any fourth line?

It was not a shot a Eagan, relax. Even without the TV timeouts, it seemed as though they were taking 2-3 minute shifts regularly. I know for a fact their 4th D-men didnt see much ice. Maybe 2-3 shifts a period.
