Channeling his inner Plante

Post by almostashappy »

minnesotahockeymag has "embellished" the video of Mike Randolph's Thurs. post-game news conference by adding a running count of the number of times he used the word. Video starts with Eagan presser...Mike's interview starts around 8:23. The count begins around 11 minutes in.

Funny stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73e9fxGqkb0

Randolph is usually not a complainer.

But he did get a few bad calls along the way that could have been momemtum turning points.

Seemed like he got to a point and was trying to bring a bit of humor into the post-game press conference. He did and nothing wrong with that. Funny thing is he was right in that it was a poor call.

I find the sound bite on Randolph crying about the call hilarious. What comes around goes around Mike! :P

I don't see how you can say it was a bad call. I played Hockey for years. If you get hooked on the side near your waist, you don't fall straight forward. If he got hooked hard enough to get pulled down, he should have twisted back and to the left. Instead, his legs came out from under him and he fell straight forward. His legs weren't even touched, unless I didn't watch close enough.

From what I saw he got hooked around his boys....
At first during real time I thought he dove but then I saw a replay and it looked pretty painful.

The embellishment call was easily one of the worst I've seen in my life. Even in other sports with diving/flopping penalties like soccer/basketball I've never seen someone whistled for a foul and then have the fouled player subsequently got penalized as well.

It was a critical point in the game and definitely hurt the Hounds. In the end you need to score goals to win the game though.

Speaking of Plante wouldn't it be funny is Cathedral could pull the upset of the year and beat EGF? Would love to see HTown play a private for a championship yet again. And could you imagine if HTown would lose? Not going to hold my breath but if it does happen I wanna see the press conference! No bigger character coaching.
