Didn't think SCC would keep it this tight. Good game so far.

The good news is that EGF has played in tight games this year, and the section 8 championship should have taught them how to handle that.

They still better pick it up though.

EGF is missing the net way too often. They've had their chances, but SCC's stuck around and you can tell they're feeling good about themselves. It'll be interesting to see how the teams come out for the 3rd.

Well, right down to the wire but the green wave gets the win.

I thought this game was very entertaining. EGF is a great team and the boys from SCC gave them a real good battle.

As an SCC grad, this has been one of those seasons that has made the alums proud.

This SCC team (not the only one, I know) lost two key contributors to juniors before the season in UND-bound Austin Poganski and that other kid who bailed a week before the season to play in the NAHL. Through it all, a 3rd place finish would be the most successful team in SCC's history.

A couple things should be noted about this team:

1. Their two senior captains are about as good as they get. Wil Hammer and Dan Bailey are two great HS hockey players who give it all up for the team and never carry any extra attitude or baggage...which is very refreshing these days.

2. This team returns a very large amount of their players next year. They lose some of their top-end talent, but have A LOT of guys coming back. With what I hear is a big group coming in from bantams next year, they'll have great numbers. If Logan Neu can step up into a big time role next year (as he began to this year) he'll be a very fun player to watch. He and Matt Fritz should really carry this team next year.

All that said, good luck to both EGF and Hermantown. They've been the two best teams in Class A all year and the Class A title game should be an exciting, competitive game.
