Moorhead has three solid lines ... but I have to see more to qualify my opinion. Alexandria also has a couple impressive lines.

As far as from the past ... hands down it's Broten, Broten & Erickson.

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat"> - end of story!

Lines
Hastings line with Welch and Taffe was very good.
Red Wing with Pohl, Moore and Larson.
Duluth East line with Spehar and I think Wheeler and Locker.
Rochester Mayo line with Liembeck, Notterman and Bushowiack.

Best line going right now would have to be Fairmont's line of Swenson, Anderson and Andersen............<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

Just some that come to mind <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

Re: Lines
How about Tony Bianchi, Dave Dahlberg and Sean Rice from Jefferson in '89. Pretty dominant tournament.

Lund, Gotziaman (sp.), and Hites (sp.)
Not sure of the spellings of the names but how about Roseau's 1990 or 1991 line of Lund, Gotziaman, and Hites? I believe they all received full ticket D1 rides.

Best lines
1977 it was
Scott Lecy, Bruce Aikens and Todd Lecy from Rochester John Marshall. I think the older Lecy had over 100 points and they won the state championship.

My second choice is
Broten, Broten and Erickson from Roseau, Defensemen would cringe watching them come at you........
I was in Bemidji at the time and our goalie said that after they got a 10 goal lead, which was the 2nd period, they would aim at areas of his body that didn't have any pads. He had over 70 saves in a 12-2 loss.

best line
I have to agree in my time (19 years) that Welch and Taffe's line was great, Welch scored that goal with like.05 seconds left with the turnover on the blue line. All the others sound real well too.

Best Line Currently
One of the best current lines is Matt Greer, Casey Parenteau, and Dan Bonne of White Bear Lake. Casey just made his HS debut last night for the Bears. They are a real dominant line offensively.

Ulseth and Friends at Kellogg in 77-78 I think?
Steve Ulseth and his Buddies at Kellogg. They were Bantam A National in 75. Ulseth was All-American, Captain, and runner-up to N Broten for the Hobey Baker.

Greatest Lines
Wow, all great choices! For me it's the boys from Roseau; Broten, Broten & Erickson.

Re: Ulseth and Friends at Kellogg in 77-78 I think?
bighorn9, I'm not sure what class Ulseth was in 1975, but his line (I think his linemates were Sauer and Forlitti (spelling)) went up against East in the Region 2 semis down in the Twin Cities that year. East pulled it out and then went on to beat Cloquet in the finals up in Duluth. I remember thinking Ulseth's line was pretty good. The 74-75 Hounds had their own player that went on to Olympic fame, Phil Verchota.

Lee

best line
I am fairly young so I didnt get to see all of those players in the above posts but as far as I have seen.... 2001 state champions Elk River... Kelly Plude, Trevor Stewart and Joel hanson... probably the most dominating line I have ever seen.

Roseau TRIO!!!
Hey guys the best hands down.
B. Erickson- A. Broton- N. Broton. If you talk to them their goals were quick hitters and down low. Maybe some of the kids can learn from the MASTERS of high school hockey. The one shot missing the corners and shooting over the net negating any rebound are all too common among youth of today. These big horse goalies I realize are tough to beat but get some rebounds on these kids. Stick to the fundemental kids and learn from the best three to ever line up as a team they were tops for unslfish play IMHO.

Re: Best/Most Prolific Line Now/Past In MN. H.S. History
sorry royalelk, but if you think the glines thompson twins line of 93' even compares to the 94' line of glines simon and bailey, your crazy. now that was a great line.

best line
how about adding
gino guyer, andy sertich, mike farconi
that line literally took greenway to state themselves, and repeatedly played every other shift all through out the year. who is to say they wouldnt have won state when they were juniors if they didnt have a decent second and third line to back them up. all of them had points above 70 and guyer and sertich were 1 and 2 in state respectively. they would have beat moorhead in the state semis if they hadnt have played so much the night before to beat eden prairie themselves, just another great line!

Re: best line
What about the Riddle Line for Benilde when they won it all??

good line!
Another good line but not the best would have to be the Irondale group(70's) with Bjustad and the Baders.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
