Also think it's very accurate. Not sure what category you'd add them to, but Bemidji is worth mentioning too; they've won 8 in a row with wins over Warroad, East Grand Forks, Thief River Falls and Roseau in that time entering a tournament with Denfeld and SPA. Likely the top seed in 8AA.

Hopkins is another team with a lot of wins and a weaker schedule.

Nick and Jack Poehling absolutely, positively need to be mentioned in the Mr Hockey discussions as well. Nick the finisher with 3 hat tricks already...(against Edina, HM and a solid Farmington sqaud) and Jack the dynamic set up man..watching all 3 boys play together is something to see. All seemingly with eyes behind their head and Johnny Guedreau like hockey sense. Wait till they get in the midst of their conf schedules....then they offensive number will really spike. This all being done with huge targets on their back, and playing one of, if not THE most grueling schedule in the state.

Absolutely! The big thing here is targets on their back. These guys score in the games that matter. Other teams do everything in their power to shut them down and can't. Very little respect given how well they have played in big games.

Pretty sure the other favorites have targets on their backs too...

I agree. Both absolutely, positively need to be mentioned. That is about it.

They will leave HS with a state title. That's all that matters and I'm certain they would trade that for any individual accolades and that's the bottom line. Mark this post.

Oh , I marked it. Along with the rest of the world. You just clearly defined the types of individuals they truly are. Wow! Keep up the good work Sats!

Just a guess here but don't you think Sats meant WOULDN'T trade that tiltle for any personal accomplishment? The fact that the twins play together reduces the chance that either wins Mr Hockey but I could see both being finalists. The Gaudreau reference might be a little over the top, that kid is extraordinary, but these kids know how to play the game.

I know that, just throwing shots at Sats! Since he/she is always quick to point out others flaws.

They are not individuals at all. Great team players. If anything, need to shoot the puck more. Merry Christmas bluelight :)

Sorry Sats. Don't take it too personal, but I will not "mark your post".

Sats, Have A Happy New Year. Oh ya, about that last pm you sent me.... Not even close to your assumption. But if that makes you feel better, just fire away.

Agree with all of Buttend comments.

To add a category: Ive been surprised at the Save Percent that Scites has racked up, with the good opposition they've had. So Id rank him the Best Surprise in goal.

As far as Poehlings and Mr. Hockey, probably both of them will make the final 10. No doubt about it: Nick snipes parts of the net where the goalie aint, in traffic and under pressure in big games.

There is a recent South of the River precedent; last year's Mr. Lacrosse and his Mr. Lacrosse Finalist twin brother played on the same Rosemount team. And the Minutemen coordinate that award as well.
Two minutes for...embellishment (ding!)

Does your lunch pail team definition = lack of any consistent scoring? And does EP being the biggest surprise team mean you never know what you are gonna get kind of like Jeckle and Hyde in Blaine?
