New Ulm vs Fergus Falls

Post by RRubberbeeskit »

New Ulm played the Otters tonight in the Holiday Classic this evening in FF and they were no match for the much quicker Otters. The Otters prevailed 4-0 and outshot NU at nearly a 2:1 clip. 40 - 20 or so. NU tender played well and kept this game much closer than it could have been.
It was a nice win for an Otter team battling a bit of a flu bug and an injury or two.

Good Post Whiner33!

My complaint from the start MOVE UP play the Bronze!

Come on coach!!! JOKE playing Winona!

The Cards will have their hands full with Spring Lake Park tomorrow only thing as embarrassing as not moving up to play the Bronze is not being to win the open again....

Still would like a good reason why they didn't move up? Makes ZERO sense to stay down. Why not challenge yourself. Who cares if you lose a few games? Not going to hurt the program by dropping a few, which t.hey probably wouldn't have anyways. Lost a lot of respect for these guys.

The end result of playing in the open division was a blunder. No question. From my understanding there was a hope last year the schwan's cup could dropped this season in favor of other non conference games. This will be what happens next year. Luverne is not returning to the schwans cup next season. However, I will say, beating a clear Section 5A favorite is a good thing for this Luverne squad.

BLUNDER?? Its a JOKE. Luverne wants respect and all the nonsense yet they wont move up to the Bronze?? Come On COACH !!!

LDC blows up St Peter 8 to 2 maybe Section 3A should take notice very good club growing up as the year progresses.

Hutch Led by Super Senior Sniper Cowgers 4 goal effort blows up Mound Westonka 7 to 4.

Section 3A is WIDE OPEN this Year!!

Not that good of a win for LDC....St Peter is awful, if you haven't seen that this year...it's a three team race between new Ulm, hutch, and Luverne. Your love for Hutchinson is just as obvious as the Luverne Fans on here, "scout." (Super Senior Sniper Cowger)

What does he have wrong?
Whiner's post wasn't good?
Cards shouldn't have moved up to Bronze?
A 4-3 game isn't 'hands full' compared to the Worthington and Windom schedule?
It won't be embarrassing to lose to Kennedy?

Funny, no mention of how awful they were when the Cards beat them 11-3. Only about the greatness.

"St. Peter rolled into Luverne expecting to run with the Cards. It did not happen. Luverne won 11-3.

Section 3A has never seen a top line like Luverne has to offer.

Ill say it again, Section 3A has never seen a top line like Luverne has to offer. "

Yeah, nice game against Kennedy today! Kennedy is NOT a good hockey team and they took out the "cards" today.

Are there any teams in 3A that are not playing a full schedule? I can't recall what the maximum allowed number of regular season games is but are there any teams (besides the bottomfeeders) who aren't playing the full schedule?

Isn't 25 the maximum number of games allowed for the regular season?

Really embarrassing loss for Luverne yesterday Kennedy is a BAD hockey team.

Hutch was down 5-1 in the 2nd period vs. LF and again battled back to tie it late 5 to 5 in the 3rd and win it in OT.

It's the 3rd time already they year Hutch has battled back from a 2 to 4 goal deficit. This team is tough and is looking tougher every day.

Right now Hutch is the Top Team in Section 3A at (8-1-1). If Hutch wins this year they only have 4 Seniors and will return pretty much same team intact next year.

After that I think its the Next Best of
New Ulm (Starting to play well and get better goaltending of late all Seniors they know they have to win now)

Luverne (Head Scratching loss yesterday really shows the CARDS are no where near as good as last year)

LDC (Are quietly putting a very solid season together and they are all UNDERCLASSMAN really good young team building)

I think Willmar has an upset left in them as does Marshall.

Should be An interesting 2nd half of the year.

Big Games This Weekend.
New Ulm @ Luverne- Its a Must Win for Luverne because they dont play Hutch or LDC this year. Smart Scheduling ?? Luverne Losses tomorrow they could be looking at a 3 or possible 4 seed.

LDC vs. Willmar- Big Game Saturday for LDC. This Squad has a very really shot at the 2 or 3 seed with some big wins down the stretch.

Should be an Interesting 2nd half.

We could have 3 to 5 clubs in 3A that win over 17 games this year. The Section has more competitive balance then in previous years.

Good Luck to All teams on your 2nd Half. Playoffs will be here very SOON!

3a hockey trout genius if Bloomington Kennedy is such a BAD hockey team why did they only get beat 3-2 by Delano? When your favorite Hutchinson Tigers get pounded by Delano 5-0? Where was the senior sniper in that one??

Maybe you ought to quit home schooling number 22 on the cards so he can come back to earth and play some d?

Great post again tho Trout!

Look at the Little Falls team that your Hutchinson Tigers took to overtime...all of a sudden a last minute loss to Kennedy for Luverne doesn't look so bad, does it?? I agree with you Scout, the Cardinals aren't as good as last year, they lost a lot. You've been saying, shut down the cardinals first line and you'll be fine. Cowger is Hutchinson's whole team, have a good defenseman shadow him and you'll be fine. How is hutchinson's goalie? Hopefully better than last year because that was their downfall.
