LPH rankings

Post by grandmeadowhockeyfan »

Thoughts on let's play hockey rankings . Does any one have a good description of how these are determined. Unbiased? Fair? Cities vs out state ranking bias?

I already agree that the rankings produced on this site are very good and they always have great descriptions and analysis!

Since no explanations are ever published, nobody will ever know.

The LPh rankings are by coaches in each class. Most coaches don't do any research outside of top 5 teams, that's why you don't see much of a change in bottom of top 20.

I started to pay real close to the LPH rankings the last four or five years and noticed that the top five are state tourney participants. Also that teams that are ranked, were ranked are state tourney participants also. The rankings have seven out of eight in their rankings who make the tourney.

Even a step farther they have the section finals teams listed in their rankings. There is not a lot of change in the rankings and they don't change sudden from one or two games!
