Hibbing 2, Rapids 2 in the 3rd period. Rapids is trying to kill a 5 minute major.

All finals:

Wayzata 4, Eden Prairie 2
-Nice bounceback win for the Trojans. They withstood a very lopsided first period and played steadily from there. Nathan Dingmann is having a nice year. EP, for all its success, is 0-3 in 6AA, which could be a real issue come seeding time.

Burnsville 6, Farmington 1
-Time to tame the Tiger enthusiasm a bit, though they have another shot at a big game on Saturday.

Blaine 3, Centennial 2
-The top seed in 5AA is Blaine's to lose now.

Duluth East 3, Apple Valley 2
-AV got 2 late in the 3rd to make it semi-interesting, but the Hounds are back in the win column.

Hibbing 3, Grand Rapids 3
-Rapids' ridiculous roller coaster of a season continues.

Hill-Murray 2, Tartan 1 (OT)
-Yikes, Hill. Were there players out?

Don't see Rapids on a roller coaster. They beat bad teams and they lose to good teams, that's a pattern not a roller coaster.

Watched Rapids lose to Edina in the Edina xmas tourney and came away very impressed. Rapids loses like 3 or 4 guys at most off the team this year and should be a very strong team next year. They had some guys who can fly, just little on defense.

Hub shows shots at something like 45-13. Games like this happen to all good teams once in a while, and evidently they happen to this HM team as well.

They may also have been looking past Tartan a little, to Saturday's big game vs. STA.

Anoka 0
Elk River 5
FINAL

Great showing from the Elk sophomores tonight. Quality job by ER sophomore goalie Meyers (and Elks' PK overall) tonight shutting out Anoka despite their multiple power plays. Jax Murray gets a hattie tonight with the help of Zerban, good stuff from the 2nd line.

Very unorthodox for this team. They've been building more towards games like this after giving up 8 goals a game for the first 6 or 7 or so. I spoke of the name Tony Sarsland and his defensive ways, I wonder if the Hockey Gods summoned his spirit. Or if Gordy just made a phone call and said "Please Tony, we need you! Only your greatness can help us, now."
