March to the X

Alot of opinions on who's the boss in the state this year but here is one amateur guess at the state seedings/pairings.

1. LNorth
2. Edina
3. Elk River
4. Wayzata (whoever come from this section is at least 4 or 3)
5. STA
Bemidji
Blaine
White Bear or Stillwater (I just don't think Hill is going)

LNorth
White Bear

Wayzata
STA

Elk River
Blaine

Edina
Bemidji

__________

LNorth
STA

Elk river
Edina
__________

LNorth

My guess at the state seeds and match ups:

Afternoon Session
2. Edina vs Cretin Durham Hall
3. Wayzata vs Grand Rapids

Evening Session
1. Lakeville North vs Bemidji
4. White Bear Lake vs 5. Blaine

I think if STA keeps doing what they're doing, they'll be the #3. The Section 6 winner will get the 4 & Elk River the 5. (*Of course this is assuming no upsets, which there will probably be at least 1 of the top 5 that bows out. History says so: '14 HM, '13 BSM & Eagan, '12 Tonka, '11 HM).

1. Lakeville North
2. Edina
3. St. Thomas Academy
4. Section 6 Winner
5. Elk River

Hill-Murray/White Bear Lake
Blaine/Centennial/Maple Grove
Bemidji/Roseau/Moorhead

An Edina-STA semifinal match would be epic in the fact that it would make the fan hatred of having to watch an Edina-Hill Murray game look like the sportsmanship game of the year. So much anger directed at high school kids by 17,000 people; I can't resist it!

Havent attempted to follow thru to X seedings and game pairings, largely because two sections for sure are wide open, and momentum in the next month will have a lot to do with who in those sections gets thru the playoffs. But anyway......

Section 1: LV North
Section 2: Edina
Section 3: St Thomas
Section 4: Hill Murray
Section 5 Wide Open: Blaine, Centennial, Maple Grove,Anoka
Section 6 Wide Open: BSM, Wayz, EP, (Mtka darkhorse)
Section 7 Elk River
Section 8 Bemidji (Elliott has convinced me)

I guess if pushed right now, I would say Blaine and BSM, but not a very high level of confidence probability in either guess.

So how would those eight flow thru to seedings and game pairings?

So true haha.

And ya, I can't see STAA not getting at least the #3 seed even if they drop one to HM. I think STAA needs 4+ losses to seriously be dropped to a 4 seed, and that would probably require ER winning out. A 2-3 loss Cadet team with wins over Wayzata, BSM, Tonka (twice) and HM would definitely be worthy of no lower than a 3.

I don't use our tickets if the championship is two of Edina/BSM/Hill and now STA. If the semis have three of those, I doubt I'll go either. Hoping for some underdogs!

What does the second A stand for in STAA? Is that just a joke about them being in AA now?
