Thats a pretty decent tournament, better when Blake plays in AA next year

Looks like we're the same except Section 2. Why do you choose Mankato East over Hutch or LDC?

State seeding

1 Blake - Best team in Class A
2 Thief - A couple bounces from being the best A team in state
3. Red Wing - A little state tourney history gets them the nod here.
4 St. Paul United - Beat a good Breck team who beat Blake. Got my vote here.
5 Proctor/Herm - good team. Playing up north and weak schedule hurt them

Just thinking certain player might step-up for
East
Beyond that it is a toss-up. IMO

I know the player you are speaking of and she doesn't have a good history in the playoffs. I think LDC and Hutch know how she reacts to contact and/or being challenged to play hard all game. I think after watching these two teams and looking at the conference they play in, they have played better competition and played them strong.

To me a toss-up , East beats Hutch,, Hutch beats LDC,LDC beats EAST

SO a senior sometimes answers the call...hence i chose East

"New prague and red wing are same section"
Sorry, meant New Ulm.
Curious, does QRF and Kratch take into account SOS when equating their rankings?

A 3-way like that makes seeding very, very important. Which team matches up best in the 2v3 semi, doesn't necessarily play well against the 1 seed. The old saying, 'seedings don't matter, if you are going to win it all, you have to beat everybody' just isn't true. You only have to beat the team that wins the other side of the bracket. Some teams don't do well against speed, some don't like physical play, some have a hard time solving a good goalie - matchups can be huge.

It is a toss up. LDC beat East this year and in the section final last year. Hutch has beaten LDC twice this year. East beat Hutch in sections last year and beat them this year. This is going to be interesting, who will break the streak!

Jumped the gun?

Post by Hock3 »

I see Luverne beat New Ulm last night, maybe I jumped the gun putting NU winning the section. Did NU play badly or has Luverne picked it up?

Checking hub shows New Ulm used backup goalie who had a bad night...5 goals on 21 shots
