Blake has a great core of young D and one of the best young goalies in the State. I am sure Wayzata wishes they still had this option.

How many lines did Tonka roll in the scrimmage? My guess is that Blake was trying some different combos too. Was #35 in goal for Tonka the whole game? Just trying to get a grip on how the scrimmage played out. Be careful to state that Blake is #1 - I'm guessing that you're saying it with a grain of salt. Though they might have a great core of young D and a nice goalie, this same squad gave up 14 goals in 3 games to Breck, Lakeville S, and Centennial as recently as last week.puckdaddy99 wrote:3-0 vs Tonka today![]()

Young D mistakes cost Blake the game vs Lakeville S last week. This team has lots of future promise to dominate A for years if they choose to stay there. #1 overall?? Surely you jest!Lace'emUp wrote:How many lines did Tonka roll in the scrimmage? My guess is that Blake was trying some different combos too. Was #35 in goal for Tonka the whole game? Tonka's top goalie did not give up a goal. I hear they split the game. I am sure if she stayed in the outcome would have been 0-0. Still a good showing by the Bears and nice win going into sections, especially with Breck losing 4-0 to the Evil Empire today. It was Tonka's backup goalie who was in for all the goals. So not fair to call Blake #1, I like to have funLace'emUp wrote:How many lines did Tonka roll in the scrimmage? My guess is that Blake was trying some different combos too. Once 35 graduates Tonka will struggle like they did at youth levels. Good skaters at the youth level, but this is the goalie we beat 10-1 two yrs ago on two different occasions vs Tonka. The majority of our girls from this group will all be varsity next year. So we will reload and have very solid tenders for the next four years. No surprise Blake scored three in just a half period, so just having fun calling them #1But as the Wild have learned this year, you can see how important it is to have a solid group of tenders, regardless how good your skaters and Defence may be. I am sure the outcome would have been much different with 35 playing. 35 has been playing great this season, and when she is on, they are the top team to beat.
Wishful hoping on my part, maybe the backup gets to play and we will have a chance. Roll Tide Roll

Here is how the game went!! First, Blake did not have Carly Bulluck one of the top scorers in the state, they did not have Karly Lund up for Miss Hockey, nor did they have Sylvia Wallin going to Yale!! Tonka did not dress their top scorer and multiple other players sick and not play. They basically scrimmaged for over 2 hours and both teams played players and goalies that had not seen a varsity game all year.
I don't think this is what either coach planned, but after Blake losing 3 players during the season for college visits and Tonka's kids coming down with a devastating sickness, I think both coaches just ran with it and made the best of it.
OK..there may have been a cocktail or two involvedpuckdaddy99 wrote:36 I need to ask, have you been hitting the bottle before this post36Guy wrote:What sick post...and a disgusting parent!!! Can you visit a college for an entire season? Is this the new wave for college recruitment? Wallin, from our AAA team is going to Princeton not Yale. Blake had their top three players missing and they still beat your Big Blue Team? WOW Maybe they should be #1 now:) I would think this even makes it worse to lose by three unless you played your entire JV team which from the "devastating" sickness you described everyone had, maybe there is a chance 35 does not feel so well come sections
My Magic Jeannie wish may come true after all. Maybe it was the bottle talking tonight, but we forgive you. Roll Tide Roll

My thoughts exactly; means nothing.luckyEPDad wrote:This is a discussion about a scrimmage? A scrimmage? A game without officials or penalties where the coaches randomly stop play and set up fake power plays? A game where you try out your new section roster? Yeah, read a lot into the results of a scrimmage.
Make that 6 minutes.sinbin wrote:I stumbled onto this post by accident and just wasted 3 minutes of my life. I should have realized after 30 seconds that I was wasting time, but I will attribute that lapse to being sick and also returning from a college visit and also a sore back, but no alcohol, however. Now let's get on to the big girl games the next two weeks and let the girls play things out and simply enjoy. Life is much too short. And, yes, I realize that I just wasted another 2 minutes with this post, but I wanted to round up to a full 5 minutes.
After a hearing a few frantic maydays..I was notified that the Bat signal was glowing in the sky. Much to my dismay, I arrived only to find it was puck daddy. Even superpowers could save puck dummy from himself.puckdaddy99 wrote:Hockey Hub showing 2-0, is this a correct score? I am sure somebody can fill us in on the blow by blow plays like they did for the Blake scrimmage. Maybe the results are wrong, Tonka must have been fighting the illness that took out their whole team vs Blake? Or maybe this was a scrimmage like Blake and not too much should be weighted on this game. Good to see some North Suburban strength here. Good luck to the Bengals in Sections Roll Tide Roll
Yawn....bored! Now we've waisted 7 minutes of everyones time.puckdaddy99 wrote:Batman, you'll have no problem finding me. I don't know if they are deeper, but their goalie is very good. When Eden Prairie played TRF way back in December the EP girls blasted away for 53 shots on goal (and a lot of shots not quite on goal). The TRF goalie not only blocked 52 shots, but she hardly ever gave up a rebound. Very solid. Watching the game on TV (not the best vantage) I thoght the two teams played very even.chix_w_stix wrote:and the almighty "the Blake School" fell to a much deeper, well rounded public school team. Kudos to TRF for a well deserved title.

Plenty of other similar examples where coops come into play, including:NotMuchToSay wrote:Spring Lake Park might be one school. I believe the boys team is A, and the girls team is AA (due to a co-op with St. Anthony/New Brighton school)
