2 of the assistants at SPA are former players of Owens'. Probably safe to say they talk.Goldyismoldy wrote:I have no idea what they know now NTMH, or whether they've had contact with the former coach.Nevertoomuchhockey wrote:I'm actually kind of surprised the former coach didn't discuss the situation with his assistant coaches before leaving. But it had nothing to do with recruiting.
The assistant coaches don't know the reason either, because the AD wouldn't tell them. They were plenty pissed.
Of course we are assuming that Goldy is correct and they really don't know rather than are respectfully staying out of it.

Was at the semifinal between St. Paul academy vs St. Paul Johnson. I see why a coach would not want to be the coach of that team. There were three coaches on the bench and another ten or so in the stands. There were ten or so parents coaching their little Johnny from the stands. Yelling directions to the kids by name and what to do. Also the youngest coach on the bench looked like he was the coach by name but all he did was stand there. The two others gave directions on the bench and talked to players about what to do in situations. The younger guy would try to give direction and got stared down by the other two. The younger guy is coach by name only. Is that confusing for the kids with two different individuals coaching differently.

Are you talking about SPA? They just lost their head coach going into the playoffs, I would say that is unique enough.grandmeadowhockeyfan wrote:Was at the semifinal between St. Paul academy vs St. Paul Johnson. Resigned....
I have heard from sources close to the coach that he was hooking up with not one, but two mothers who had sons on the team. I guess SPA did not want that going on and asked him to resign.....

Nice board nickname though. No one would even guess you were from Mahtomedi.

It's only a 10 minute milfconduct, so probably worth it.BodyShots wrote:One way to try and get your kid some more playing time.

George Costanza: [pause] Was that wrong? Should I not have done that? I tell you, I gotta plead ignorence on this thing, because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing is frowned upon... you know, cause I've worked in a lot of offices, and I tell you, people do that all the time.spafan wrote:I have heard from sources close to the coach that he was hooking up with not one, but two mothers who had sons on the team. Heard the same rumors as well. Also heard he got canned from his day job as well for similar reasons.spafan wrote:I have heard from sources close to the coach that he was hooking up with not one, but two mothers who had sons on the team. Okay, the first rumor is out. The second is harassing an eighteen year old concession worker by continually asking for dates, even after being warned multiple times.EliteHockeyMind wrote:Heard the same rumors as well. I have no comment on this other than keep in mind its just rumors at this point. There is nobody who has identified themselves to have been in person talking to the coach but rather only people who have talked to "sources close to the coach". There is no other source closer to the coach than his best friends/former assistant coaches, and they still don't know what is going on, so keep an open mind (it's okay to investigate rumors), but know that none of the accusations are 100% proven.
