Re: 2005-2006 Goalies
k lets see laura... you told me this one was logical... sure keaton choked against centennial... but that was the only time... so it was a fluke... austin "choked"/didnt live up to hype.. MULTIPLE times... this has nothing to do with keaton

ps. laura so what if jefferson didnt lose a game like that, they also probably woudlnt have done what aha did against shattuck...

oh and two words buddy, state champs.

thanks

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ck2345>got puck 2345 at: 3/15/05 10:17 pm

Re:
You guys obviously aren't goalies (neither was I). The position is all mental and they got tons of pressure on them. Not to mention how much they have playing in the state tourny. Don't their heart beats get up to about 140 beats per minute i remember reading (yikes <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> ). So i suggest unless you've actually been a goalie you shouldn't critisize.

Re: 2005-2006 Goalies
We have been talking about who came up big in big games, which Keaton Smith did in the state tournament. Just because goalies like Soll (East), Wood (Tartan), Warhol (Elk River), and Kangas (Century) didnt lead their teams to the title doesnt mean they underachieved or choked. Lee, Faust, and the Moorhead goalies did "choke" or underachieve because they did not play up to the level that was expected of them.

Re: 2005-2006 Goalies
They blew out alot of those tough teams because of their talent and speed. Austin had many great saves all on his "own". You know it.....you will just criticize the Jags any opportunity you can - and it's obvious. You can't be taken seriously for your knowledge when it's so...obvious.

Re: Re:
lol i played goalie a few times back in the day... and yes i realize it is about 90-95% mental... all of them have the physical ability more or less, its the mental aspect that makes them great

Re: 2005-2006 Goalies
yeah i rip on jefferson a bit... but any goalie as highly regarded going into the tournement as austin lee was, and who just didnt live up to it, i'd probably say the same thing... and no worries i dont claim to be REALLY knowledgable about hockey

Re: 2005-2006 Goalies
stateofhockey00 - i like your post. none of us can really criticize a goalie unless we know what its like to be one. Most of the people on this forum are biased (as am I, dont get me wrong) and criticize anyone who criticizes their team. The arguements get pretty bad, so thanks for being level headed. I'll take my posting down a notch. Thanks again.

Re: 2005-2006 Goalies
and you...gotpuck...will critisize anything about the Jags - so when you can look at players as themselves instead of what team they play for - come back and give your 2 cents.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Re: 2005-2006 Goalies
point taken sorry... but i still stand on my statement about austin lee being overrated ... hes a good goalie, but not as great as all the hype indicated

ill just end my involvment in this topic by saying this: jefferson did have a strong team this year and with all my criticism ive never intended to say they were bad

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ck2345>got puck 2345 at: 3/15/05 10:31 pm

Re: 2005-2006 Goalies
Maybe you get too caught up in the heat of it, but that isnt very classy. Every thread you post in there is some sort of controversial issue and you end up looking like a fool. As for Jefferson, the players themselves have just as much talent as anyone else, and they proved that by getting to the state tournament. All 8 teams that made it to the AA tournament this year have an incredible amount of talent. Unless you play in a state tournament game, i'm assuming you have no idea what its like to be under that amount of pressure. So dont go shooting off your mouth.

PS. "ill just end my involvment in this topic by saying this: jefferson did have a strong team this year and with all my criticism ive never intended to say they were bad"... we all know that isnt true at all.

We go from what started as a discussion of goalies in the 2005-06 season to this?

Lee

____________
Message Board arsonist since 2005
